NEW TO OUR CHANNEL?
We are Eileen and Brown Councill. Welcome to our channel and a glimpse into our NEW life adventure! 2020 was a year of uncertainty and change (for all of us, right?), but we overcame the challenges and decided it was time to chase our dream, to sail around the world! Did I mention that we have very little sailing experience? Before leaving Qingdao, China, our home of 4 years, we sold almost all of our earthly possessions and started our international search to find the right sailboat that we would call "home." After 5 months of unanticipated twists and turns, we found what we were looking for, a used Leopard 44' Catamaran located in St. Lucia.
So, here begins our journey, filled with unmatched excitement and honestly, a bit of trepidation as well. We have much to learn as we travel the world on our floating home and we intend to document that journey and share it with you. We are so glad you have decided to join us, and we hope that you will find our story so compelling that it will inspire you to chase your dreams too!
As a viewer, we consider you to be part of our family and look forward to getting to know you. Don't hesitate to comment on our videos and ask questions. We will do our best to answer every correspondence! All we ask is that you have patience with us as we work really hard to improve our camera/video techniques and ability to tell a story. Hopefully, you will be as BLOWN AWAY from watching, as we are in experiencing and producing our adventures!

In this episode, we leave Anaho Bay for Taioha'e Bay to visit the dentist and get Brown's cracked molar fixed. Yikes! What a painful disaster! HEY!! So happy to hear from you! Yes crazy roads!!!
Fun video! No Krogers or Publix, but amazing shopping! Thanks, Andrew
Hey Andrew!! Ha ha. Yes! The best shopping!! Hope you and S are well!!
What a great episode thank you for sharing your adventure. That Oxley is such a neat sale I'm so curious about the length of these ropes . It's wonderful to see you getting all that fresh fruit straight off the trees. I think I'm gonna go in the yard and pick a fig off the tree see you next week
Hey!! Thanks for your faithful comments!! The Oxley is amazing when it behaves. Ha ha. Enjoy that fig. We love getting fruit from the trees. Spoiled for sure.
So cool to learn about the flower stone & then to see the sting ray!😅 (a flower stone sting ray). I think the most beautiful place in the world. 🥰
Thank you SO much did your comment! It made our day! This IS such a beautiful place!! Have a great weekend! ❤️
Awesome footage, great narration Admiral. Love when Brown pipes in!! You guys roc. Am I too old to do this at 63? Sail already, with a little 23 footer- trying to convince my Admiral (call her that as well) to do it.
You are so kind! Thank you for your encouragement!! Brown is a trip for sure. Brown’s 60! You can do it!! Hoping your Admiral will agree to it! ❤️
Just found your channel (thank you sailing red seas) really enjoying jumping around and checking it out. New subscriber who also rang the bell.🎉

Now that you've crossed the Pacific, it would be interesting to see a video about what it takes to convert a charter cat to something that can handle an ocean crossing and beyond.
Thank you for watching and your comment!! We have kind of done that already in our videos that summed up all that we added to the boat after purchase to make it blue water ready…but also all the extra things we bought like parts, safety equipment, etc. this was a 3 part series. www.google.com/url?q=www.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3Dmmbo5-Wj7W4&sa=U&sqi=2&ved=2ahUKEwjbzs3k0-GHAxVe2TgGHVZhBL8QwqsBegQIEBAG&usg=AOvVaw2_AT0e2tDp3SkpBAdDunNR
I've lived in Port Jeffesrson my whole 70 years, this town used to be so welcoming to mariners but it's a second thought now. The dinghy docks were shut down by lawyers.
Oh no! What a shame!! When lawyers get involved it’s never a good outcome! How sad!
@@SailingBlownAway We have a few dinghy spots available at the Port Jefferson Yacht Club.
@anemoneii Thank you so much!! We are now in French Polynesia but maybe when we come back around you will still have space!
Really enjoy how you add names to plant spieces, animals and sealife... and always great videography,
Hey Chris!! Thank you SO much for your encouragement! Your feedback is helpful as I sometimes think I should stop with the labels, but I will continue!! We appreciate you!!
We missed going to the Chocolate guy! Darn it!
OH NO!!! Well, you have a good goal for next time around the sun!! :) Hugs to you guys!!
Some of these are really good ideas, especially love the foli system for the berths.
Thank you so much for your comment. We are glad to help with some ideas. The Foli system is amazing. We love it!!
@@SailingBlownAway I always have issues with damp under the vberth due to condensation and horrible UK climate. This looks like a decent solution!
@obiwanfisher537 It def works. It keeps the air circulating and we have no mold on our mattress. Let’s us know how it works for you!!
@@SailingBlownAway I will soon buy some, but I am in the UK so it might take a while for them to arrive.
I find it really annoying when people spend half the video talking about what they're 'going' to talk about, you are wasting my time when you do that
Thanks for your feedback. We are sorry that our video wasn't helpful.
Thank you for taking us along! My wife and I are retiring from teaching in three years, and can’t wait for continued world travels on our schedule! We are beginning to look at catamarans now. We love what you are doing!
Thank you SO much for your comment. It made our day. We are retired teacher/Admin so we KNOW what it feels like to hang up the "white board marker" and start the world adventure. Fun video..could see Brown’s toes curling while being drilled…know the feeling! Thanks, Andrew
Ha ha! YES! Great to hear from you, Andrew! Hope you and S are well!
This worked absolutely amazingly. After the first pass with the Sunbrella prescribed method, I was doubtful. But thanks to your urging I tried with the 50/50 water-chorine solution (basically just doubled up whatever solution I had left from the first pass with chloring). The result was incredible. I looked and swore they were lighter and the color had worn, but when I compared the bleached stuff with a good bit of fabric that I didn't have to clean it was EXACTLY THE SAME! I couldn't believe my eyes, you're a king! Sidenote: Whatever thread was used to lockstitch my fabric, it was apparently not highly UV resistant. The old stitching that was exposed to the sun more-or-less dissolved with the chlorine and moderate scrubbing. The old stitching that was NOT exposed to the sun it was perfectly fine. For replacement thread I am using Coats & Clark Eloflex (Polybutylene Terephthalate, or PBT) thread doubled up on itself for extra strength. PBT thread is extra flexible/stretchy, extra UV resistant, and extra heat resistant. Would recommend.
Thank you for your kind words. So glad to help make this once before dreaded task more fruitful! Stay tuned for a follow up which shows how to do easy touch ups with minimal water usage. I feel your pain with the thread situation. A job is as good as its weakest link and it infuriates me when people chinzed on thread just to make a few more bucks. This is especially horrible with sails because of their expense and constant exposure to the sun. We paid $80 extra for forever thread for our dinghy chaps.
Amazing video! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much! We appreciate your comment too!
That is very beautiful but please my friend let me warn you be very careful when you are in a school of big barracuda they are more dangerous than the sharks I know this I have been attacked by them never bitten but they've taken the fish off my Stringer while spear fishing please be more careful with these big barracuda than the sharks
Thank you!! Yes, we will. We always treat wild animals with respect and distance. And we never spear fish here. That makes a big difference!!! Thanks for the reminder.
Wow what an amazing island absolutely beautiful. You have shown so many different beautiful flowers it would be hard to pick a favorite. Indian grandmother's pot of stew looked so yummy.

Also, the figure you mentioned on SCUBA tanks. Is that all in? Tanks, rack, and compressor? I'm a PADI Divemaster and I'd love to do something similar once I get a boat.
Yes it is! Check out this video to see how we managed to modify a European compressor to work with our 110 boat so we can run it off solar. czcams.com/video/ez6i4NYy6SU/video.htmlfeature=shared

Mr. Brown, I know this a dumb question probably, but I'm curious about this. Does the washing machine run on12V, or does anyone make one that does? Also dishwasher and aircon that will run on 12V? Do they exist?
Not a dumb question at all. Thanks for asking. The washing machine is 110V. I don’t know if one that’s 12v for a boat. The only dishwasher on board is the human one! I believe Mebru 12V but it has a bad reputation. Let me know if you have other questions!
Most of those type of appliances are 110 because they use more power than 12 volts can provide.
@@SailingBlownAway that’s what I was thinking, but technology has come a long way in the past few years, so I figured I’d ask :)
"not monetized"....but you have patrons 🤔keep it real man. good video though, lovely boat as well :)
At the time we were not monetized on YT…that’s what Brown meant. We didn’t have enough hours or subs. Of course we are now! We are glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for your comment.
I remember the song “The Lee Shore” from when I was in high school but did not know the connection until you mentioned it. Thanks for sharing.

Sorry about the cracked tooth. 2 months ago, I asked my dentist if he removes amalgam fillings. He asked why. I said because I dont want toxic mercury leaking into my body from my six amalgam fillings. He said that shouldn't be the overriding reason. He said the overriding reason should be that they expand over time and could eventually crack the teeth. So I had him remove all 6 old fillings over a 2 week period. Half on one side the first week....the rest on the other side in week 2. I asked about the risk of cracking the teeth by drilling out the amalgam. He said he wouldn't go that deep.
Wow. Super interesting!! Thanks for letting us know. It might be time for us to do that too!
Hey Buddy! Good to hear from you! If I had my fillings replaced, it wouldn’t be with this dentist. NO Novocain! 😱😱😱

Hello, where did you find the plane for the private shipping? What can i google to find that globally?
We got lucky. It was the owner of a restaurant who flies in supplies. We had a personal connection due to its location at the yacht club. This would be an incredible business for delivery if you could get it started.
You should write your next of keen contact numbers at the HELM😊
Ah yes. Thats a good idea too!! Thank you!!
