    Please note that the whalers never “gave” the Eden Killer pod the whales tongue. The killers always took it as it is the natural food of Whale hunting orcas. But it was the attitude of the Davidson family to not try to tow a dead whale immediately back to their tryworks and let the orcas feast at leisure uninterrupted that led to the orcas favouring that family over the various competition whaling companies that were present in the bay at varies times and were too eager to tow killed whales back for processing.

    Every new type ofproducing medecine is gonna be very expensive at first, lets not make it a race/class issue. Many medical operations that seem trivial today used to be super expensive and hard to access when they were first discovered. Idk why people always gotta make things into a class/race issue nowadays

    Bowhead whale also found have multiple copy of CDKN2C gene and gene itself always active, this gene responsible to stop or slowing cell cycle transition, it makes their cells have very long dividing time than other mammals

    There are 2 metabolic pathways: carbohydrates and fatty acids Cancer is a metabolic disease. Cancer tumours can only rapidly grow with high doses of glucose. This is called the Warburg effect.

    • @lonelyelectron5283
      @lonelyelectron5283 Před 4 měsíci

      More complicated, cancer is very heterogenetic, common trait of many types cancer could be not shared with other, theres cancer that use RNA as metabolit other than fat, glucose, etc, cancers acquired this trait through mutation cant be handled just by fasting

    You might be interested in Michael Levin's researching into inter-cellular communication networks and morphological development, particular as it applies to the development of cancer. According to him, cancer is not necessarily caused by mutations to the DNA, but more generally by anything which disrupts the normal communication stream which forces the cell to behave as part of a particular tissue in a multicellular organism, rather than an independent 'wild type'/protist. This theory of cancer might better explain how cancer rates don't correlate with body size, as while the number of cells which could potentially become cancerous(for any reason) increases, the stabilizing pressure of this communication network seems like it would also increase. Of course, mutations, DNA repair, and the regular lysing of cancerous cells by the immune system are still very relevant in this paradigm.

      Nope, it's used correctly. Newly identified species, from 46,000 years ago. By definition all new species are not actually new, we've merely newly discovered them... Not counting cases of sudden evolution or deliberate breeding.

    With the permafrost melting, and micro-organisms tens of thousands of years old being revived with water, the possibility of long extinct plant and animal pathogens become a problem again seems possible. This is not just a big concern for the environment, but also agriculture and possibly diseases effecting humans. Imagine a pandemic that is caused by a microbe frozen from the ice age.
