Hi there. This channel was created in order to share some of the adventures I've been blessed to enjoy. My hope is that they serve to encourage you to expand your comfort zone, to see and experience new things and the beauty of nature. If you're not able to or already participate in similar activity, then I hope you simply enjoy these videos and they brighten your day.
For me spending time in nature is as therapeutic as it gets. I've been blessed to have a very good friend who is also a pilot and airplane owner with whom I've been able to travel and experience things I otherwise would not have been able to enjoy.
I am a professional photographer who has most recently begun to document these and other experiences in the form of video. Already a senior and getting older by the year...no telling how many more adventures I'll be able to complete. My goal here is improve video quality and creativity each time.
Thanks for watching and I hope you'll return. Cheers All.

When you went into Island (WV08) did you get prior permission or did you just go in and land?
Unfortunately, I was unable to contact anyone there, so that was done without talking to anybody in advance.
Beautiful video! Congratulations. Which is the camera wing set-up to capture these images? I like it very much.
GoPro Max360 on a 3 foot boom out in front of where strut joins the wing.
I haven't flown in nearly 30 years. This is giving me the bug again. I absolutely love the videos. Keep em comin.
Thanks very much; glad you enjoy them.
Your narration sounds like Dick Proenneke
Is that a good or bad thing? 😂 This is funny as I’ve actually watched his videos a number of times. It wasn’t intentional though.
@@rickhiebert7352 It's absolutely a good thing. I've never been so mesmerized by a voice as I have by his. On the other hand, I've never felt less like a man than when I watch his videos. I've actually been to his cabin on Upper Twin twice and would highly recommend it to anyone in the area.
Well thanks then, lol. I totally hear you about admiring Dick’s strength and talent. Definitely humbling. When I was in my 20’s I dreamt of doing what he did.
@@rickhiebert7352 as do I. Alas, life gets in the way. I don’t anticipate being able to live like he did. Sigh
12:23 "how would you describe these mesmerizing pools of blue water" melting glaciers are among the fastest and most dramatic effects of global climate warming, causing sea level rise, invading coastal areas, threatening farmlands, housings of billions of peoples , flooding ALL the harbors around the world in the next decades Burning fuel with unefficient planes just for fun won’t make it better, if only you could talk about the destruction of this "mesmerizing" nature
My dude. Light planes are a drop in the bucket. National policy has dramatically more effect. I invite you to look at your own footprint before you go after anyone else. I'm guessing that none of us are perfect but nitpicking what individuals do is unproductive. Our country would like us to believe that recycling and using paper straws is the key to saving the environment but it just isn't true. It's simply an effort to shift the guilt to the citizens. let's give each other some grace and vote for effective policy. I wish you well.
Splitting up by strip in the key moments section is fantastic, thank you!!
Thanks, and again, so glad you find it informative and useful.
Thank you for the ongoing incredible vidz. Very helpful for trip planning in our PA22, much appreciated!
Thank you! So glad you enjoy them and can apply some of the info. Have a great trip.
Captivating video! I enjoyed every minute of it!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it, thank you. If you're interested, I've completed a video of our trip to Alaska as well.
Thanks so much for making this trip available to all. I enjoyed every minute.
Thank you; so glad you enjoyed it. In case you're not aware, we've completed a video of our Alaska trip now as well.
One of the best videos I’ve seen on the Johnson canyon area, nice job!
Thanks very much; appreciate the comment. Glad you enjoyed it.
Lived there in the 80's, loved it. It was the most interesting and beautiful place I've ever lived.
Yes, it truly is a unique and beautiful place.
Great flying, planes, commentary, videoing, scenery and WEATHER! Loved this. Thank-you.
Thanks so much. Pumped that you enjoyed it so much!
Very interesting n great scenery
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video.
Thanks and glad you enjoyed the video. Flights are only tiring when you fly long distances...maybe 5 hrs at a time. Yes, there is heat in the cabin. If the engine fails you can glide short distances, depends entirely on how high you're flying.
Watched several times. Good stuff.
Thanks...so glad you enjoy it.
Awesome video, guys. Would love to take my homebuilt to Alaska when I finish it!
Thank you. Hope you're successful.
1:20 and 1:52 where is it?
1:20 till 1:49 is Theodore Roosevelt National Park, North Dakota. 1:52 is somewhere between that Park and Cowley, Wyoming.
Great video of a trip with the boys!
Thanks and thanks for watching.
Beautiful videos my family loves them. CAN T BELIEVE TOU NEED A PERMIT TO HAVE A A GUN FOR PROTECTION. YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR PEOPLE IN CHARGE OR JUST NOT PAY ATTEBTION TO SUCH STUPID LAWS.
Thank you and so glad you enjoy them. Yes, silly rules/laws.
!!!!!!!!!!!
The voiceover is kimda brutal. Looks like a fun trip tho
It is exactly what I expected and wanted to hear. You mind your manners.
Yes, awesome trip. Sorry you didn't appreciate the extra info...can't please everyone. Cheers though.
Great video! How did the two different planes match up for speed’s?
Amazing video. Thank you for showing less known airstrips too. And your airplane and the livery looks great 👍
Thanks and glad you enjoyed it.
AWESOME VIDEO
Thank you!
Can you describe how and where you got the music? I'm a Moose Creek veteran. Ate a LOT of trout out of the creek.
Hello. For sure...I subscribe to Epidemic Sound that provides royalty free music to use on YT like this.
Just discovered your channel! Great videos! What month did you do this trip? Wx looked pretty good without the summer heat and high DA's.
Thanks, glad you enjoy them. We left for Idaho on June 13th, 2022. Daytime temps were great. Fell to freezing temps during the night at Johnson's Creek...as you probably saw in the video.
@@rickhiebert7352 OK great! Thanks! I'm planning a trip out there late spring/early summer, before fire season.

Thanks and glad you enjoyed it.
Beautifully done. Loved the video ❤
Thank you and thanks for watching.
Great video with beautiful footage, really enjoyed it. I too was in Alaska coming a long way with my RV-8 and did pass some of the same spots like Dawson and Talkeetna. It is so much safer flying with two airplanes. You were lucky with the weather as I remember around June 22 the weather in the South of Alaska turned ugly.
Thank you! Yes, we were beyond fortunate.
Hi Rick, thanks for sharing your video. Impressive landscape!
...and thanks for watching. Yes, beautiful country.
What a beautiful trip. The logistics in planning must be extensive. Lots of "what ifs" to worry about.
Lots of planning was done for sure but there was never any worry. Our pilots always had access to solid information and worked perfectly together to make sound decisions.
Awesome Vid! I noticed that you used the Sentry portable on this trip. Did it work well in the remote areas?
Glad you enjoyed it; thanks for watching. The Sentry worked flawlessly where ever we flew.
That was very cool, thanks

Even a loop never got to do that so sweet ❤🎉

Glad you enjoyed the video!
I love the endless summer style commentary.
Thanks, I'll take that as a compliment even though I'm not familiar with the movie, lol. Glad you enjoyed it.

There are plenty of non-white people who own airplanes. Troll
Great views as always! Can't wait to explore here someday
Thanks and thanks for watching.
Amazing adventure for sure!
Thanks for watching!
Another great video, Alaska is definitely on my bucket list for my BH Companion
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it.
How is the camera behind the tail of the Bearhawk attached?
At the 11:01 mark of the video you get a good look at the tail camera boom/mount. The Max360 is just under his elbow. At the 7:00 minute mark you get a good look at the front boom mounted Max 360 camera.
Great....thanks for the prompt reply.
Awesome vid again! Beautiful scenery!
Thanks and thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it.
Is all of Alaska settled now and does it all get snowed on in winter time ? Australian !
We were only in the very southeast corner of Alaska. I believe that the majority of Alaska is still wild and unsettled. Yes, all of AK will see snow in winter.
Thanks for sharing Americas most beautiful scenery
You're welcome and thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it.
