What are the Northern Lights? [Aurora Borealis Explained]
Have you ever seen the Northern Lights? Curious what the Aurora Borealis is? Or what makes the Northern Lights? Did you know the Southern Lights are known as the Aurora Australis? Dr. Joe Pesce, as astronomer with the U.S. National Science Foundation, sits down to explain how particles from the sun interact with Earth's atmosphere to create this stunning light display near our northern and southern poles. He also explains why 2024 and 2025 will be great times to see these beautiful lights at lower latitudes.

As Wonderful as a Twin Milkyway, but with a little blue saltwater Taffy perhaps ? Okay, cutting to the Chase, so that Scientists 'can explain this phenomenon to the layman is of another day..But let me try. Let's try by breaking down what consists in a Light Year. Okay, how about this parable? Before the digital age we had in "Hollywood Films" A 35 millimeter Motion Picture Camera that used traditional Cellulose Films that Shot Movies at 16 Frames per second! Which was a marvel back then in the 1930's... ( Which was by the way first perfected in England)...So what does 16 Frames per sec- ond have to do with the price of a Light Year in Space ? I'm glad you brought that up. Well there are 16 Parsecs in One Light Year.. Therefore, do the Math. 16 x 125 million Years.. And this way, we can begin to under- stand how many Trillions , hence Zillions of Parsecs there are in the distances between us and the Galaxies we want to figure out, even if you're just a novice ( a curious on- looker), if you like .. Then once you see which Numbers are Significant that help breakdown the enigma of the "Light Year", we will introduce some more Vocabularies that are thrown around in Astronomy... The Spacial Quadrant Sector... Now, you may have heard this word used in "Battle Intergalactica" that Aired from England a few decades ago, ( a scifi. skit) that was created for Television, even though it never caught on due to usage of enormous vocabularies...All they needed was a parable to explain as The Messiah would say...
