Old thread, I know, but I do recognize the bipod!
Hey, was looking at your small bore stuff. Have you ever tried Shooting Federation of Canada Sporting Rifle? Nationals are coming up on Aug 17 & 18 in Cookstown, On. Check it out.
love this f/tr
That Anschutz will shoot just as well at 50Yd.
mine 1913/54.30 shoot like that at 50 meters
Yeah I never got mine to shoot super tight, I got a new scope for this winter coming to try and get benchrest accuracy with the 2007. Not as good as the 1913 or 54.30 but capable.
IT ma by the ammo you using i tryb 30 typem before i found the one my rifle like@@howtoshootstraighthtss4948
@@howtoshootstraighthtss4948 it my be ammo i try 30 type befor i found one that mine rifle like, so far best resoult i get on eley benchrest precision or sk rifle match
I’m sorry to bother you with a question, but could you please tell me what kind of bipod you’re using? Is it mounted to a rail? Thank you very much for answering this-if you can…
Sorry for late reply I dont see notifications, its a duplin bipod, and the rail is anschutz rail.
What brass are you using? Also what primer and primer size? Thanks. Great videos
Lapua small primers federal match primers, thanks
A+ for persistence !!!
were you shooting the 208g hybrids in a .308 ifso what velocity you run them, Thanks R4.
Yes 308 win, i did not have a chrono but i suspect low 2600s
Ps be careful, the brass wont last either with that load, and you want lots of freebore. But work ur load up be safe.
Try Berger 52 gr flat base. Example. 5 griup 100m 0.051
You sure thats 100 yards? Looks more like 50
Looks like 50 but is 100yards, its a military range.
Also the tiny little frame you see from my camara is 4 feet wide by 4 feet tall plus the legs. For ref.
What ammo are you using? I had never such good precision at 100 :-)
Thats 20yards sk ammo
100 was the score not the distance sorry.
What powder?
N140
You can “ bump over” a rockchucker, unless you are using a carbide die. It will break the carbide ring. Glad I could help Keep wasting money on “ elite” dies, and buy Lee. It’s sounds so better to have a micrometer adjustment, but, it’s not needed. You “ bump” just a little bit, so, what’s the magic?
The magic is the gap, that hairline gap will cause inconsistency when i shoulder bump, so i cam over a bit to make sure it closes that gap. When i neck size or full size i dont cam over. Thats just from my observations maybe the cause is my rock chucker being old
Yes
I'm Barry's youngest daughter, it's so good to hear his laugh and voice doing what he loved most. He was his best self on the range.
I thought that you can bump with the foster dies with bushings or the special shell holders. You're using both,no? Why not use either or? Im asking because i. Thinking of getting that die
Yo could use either die.
Do you have anymore videos with Barry?
No unfortunately.
Why are u chasing the wind
Was lost in the fish tail. I think the wind changed when I get ready too shoot.
These are great old guns! They also go by the name "Omark Model 44". I have one and love it! Super accurate! Cheers, ASC.
Thank you for the detail.
Ammo used
Sk flatnose, the pink box
"Promosm"
How far off lands you seated those 208g also what was velocity.
I think they were .015” but my throat are not good for it, I was talking to john marshall, the throat i dont fully remember the exact size but is over .200” its around .230” but dont go by that, just know that a .185” freebore is not ideal.
Thanks, What was barrel twist and powder used for the 208g Hybrids Thanks.
Excellent instructions. Thank You
Distance ?
20y
So close!!
The closer the better
@@howtoshootstraighthtss4948😱well, it might be close, but those are tiny little targets. I love that bipod! Atlas? ARCA rail?
Also when you change bullets never count the first shot even with a warmed up barrel. Many times that first shot using a different bullet especially a different powder will shoot off. So always shoot one fouler shot first. If you look at the last 3 shots of the 215s they are into about 75" which @ 300y is between ¼ - ⅓ moa. The 215s are always going to group lower until you get out past 600 yds. You shoot 215s for wind 9n fixed known distance shooting. Assuming this is for for. Also you need more rigid support for the target. With that head/tailwind it's moving the target enough for a 1"+ on the group poi/poa variation.
Because of the bullet length and dimension differences its rare t9 have a chamber freebore setup ideally for both 185 juggers and the 215s. They need vastly different freebore lengths to have them seated in the neck properly. The 185s are also about the ideal bullet shape and weight for the 308W case.
Thoughts on the 208s for a 22” 1:10 with 4895? Or should I stick with the 185s?
Your better off staying with 185s, even if ur freebore was long, you wouldnt get ideal velocities.
I use H335 with the 55 grain SBK in 223.. Sub MOA at 100 yards
What cal are you guys shooting?
308
Say hi to Mark for me
I'm so excited to be getting my first Tikka t1x mtr 22lr this Christmas
What made you get the straight vs curved.
Its wider so it feels good on the digit, but the downside is a bit harder to shoot in the same spot, someone told me to place my digit as close to the bottom as possible to get mechanical advantage.
I have one of these on my model 1416 Anschütz .22. Great value. I was able to get a 5 shot group into virtually the same hole at 25 yds with this set up. Love the circular reticle.
I love retro
Couple of close calls - but you got there. Well done great shooting.
Congratulates you on a beautiful rifle, I'm curious how it shoots. 👍👍
great rifle dude 👍👍, I'm curious about the results👏
Will have one next week, we didnt have etargets today
Awesome
20yds 😂
Yeah 20y 😂
My anschurz likes cci green tip, been shooting it for years. Now looking for better precision so going to try some Lapua types and lots.
Strange does let me edit commit.... Wanted to add. I use peep sights and hitting center at 100 yd
@@mccwho very nice, Center X are pretty good for lapua.
@@howtoshootstraighthtss4948 thanks! That is one I am wanting to try. But so many lot numbers, that is exasperating! At least I'll know my barrel even better. 🤪
Give up mate. Noel
Show us how it’s done, Noel
Hi, Do you have the load data for that bullet ? Let me know please Cheers
Hi 44.0 n140 or varget, but it works better with a long freebore, the same one for the 215 hybrids
That wind was dipping a little wasn’t it. Hard to tell from the flags alone. I’m trying to train myself to look through the spotter between every shot at the mirage.
A little bit not enought for inners, every shot at 5 oclock was trigger.
@@howtoshootstraighthtss4948 good of you to be honest with yourself. It’s hard to collect a 50 isn’t it - I’m still learning myself. PB is currently 48.6 last shoot
Very cool setup you’ve made there. I’m gonna have to put something together like that to sort through a couple thousand rounds of Norma tac 22(quality control rejected rws r50) to try and get a couple boxes of “r50” from it.
With regard to your crossfires - something that helped me recently is a coaching tip about continually checking my natural point of aim, basically before every shot. At this time you also verify your lane, removing the possibility of crossfire.
Damn good grouping at 600 yards. 5.4" is a headshot on damn near every animal. Keep up the good work.
Great to hear Barry's voice and laugh agai
Wasn’t good at 300 for me 🤣
have you tried putting your ammo box on the right hand side? Seems you were reaching a fair bit…
That's a really nice set up you made I've measured and weighed them and it does make a difference Nice video
May we meet again brother barry, rest in peace July 22 2022
RIP Barry. I had to hear that laugh today. Perfect start of the video
Good metal song. As good on guitar than on a rifle 😛
