thanks! I replaced the battery and the solenoid and thought "how did I mess it up now I got nothing." Turns out this little fuse was kind of hiding up in the frame blending in really well but sure enough it was the problem. Fixed in 60 seconds!
@@StringTheoryStudiosLLC glad you figured it out. Thanks for watching!
Oil pressure switch is bad
I just got my grandpas out. 1. Thankfully he put it up with no gas jn it 2. His motor is a 6hp and finally i got a brand new Beaver Blade with it. But if i remember right he put it up cause it wouldn't run right aside from .me cleaning the carb which i planned to do,any other recommendations
@@jeremylay1694 clean carb, check air filter, spark plug and oil
@@RealManSkills thanks. That was kinda my list but as I'm unfamiliar with the Dr Field Trimmers or Field and brush I wanted to ask some who actually knew this engine. I need to ask the bar in the middle that can be spun any direction, what's that for? Is that to tighten or loosen the drive head belt?
@@jeremylay1694 If I recall correctly, the bar is to lock or unlock the axle. The axle pivots, to allow trimming at an angle without the wheels getting in the way.
@@RealManSkills thanks I just pulled the spark plug and it has empty of spark. I'm still going to pull the carb an let it sit overnight. I'm so glad my grandpa drained it before he put it up and switched to the Dr Field and Brush mower. I live next door to my parents so I cut like 1.5 miles of trail with the field and brush throughout the 25 acres they have.i actually have a 25 acre property as well although that's mostly woods I Inherited all this so I'm trying to put to work what my grandpa had that's worth having around. Plus with my dad almost 80 being 75 yards away helps a lot. Thanks for your help, I use to know this machine when I was a kid hanging out with my paw paw but that was like 35 years ago.
I got same mower with kawasaki motor it's super heavy beast
@@Vince-yolo thanks for watching!
Me, I would smear bearing grease on each side of that washer he had trouble putting on. Then bearing grease each washer that moves back and forth under that toothed plate that works with the new toothed sprocket. Apply grey antiseize onto the splined shaft too.
Good idea. Thanks for the suggestion!
I got one of these POS. I grew up sitting behind a K321. The difference makes me think the Chinese bought out Kohler. I fixed surge by carefully replacing the idiotically designed gaskets on the intake. I think it's leaking again, because after a year, it's now overheating like it's running lean at full power.

Just tack'd my first push mower motor the other day with an actual tachometer & been doing it by ear till now as i watch the pull cord vibrations for the least movement, like a guitar sting kinda.. After setting rpms with tach to 3100 i noticed the pull string was right where i wanted it, barely any vibration & bouse at all. ❤
Nice!
Good running but bad paint and rust. You can’t have both “runs and looks good” the motor will out last the rest of these. Mine has rust not paint and deck is almost fully gone lol I have to be very cautious of flying sticks, rocks etc. lol
Yes, this is a strong running machine but crusty around the edges. Thanks for watching.
Well, I’ve learned a very good lesson here when it’s my turn to buy a new tractor….. DO NOT BUY ONE OF THESE THESE😳
I agree!
That magnet looks those installed in crankcases and transmissions to attract steel particles. I bet someone dropped it off a workbench and could never find it! 😂
I was waiting to see how you repaired the adapter. Oh well! 😉👍
Pretty sure shaft is bent, based on the force necessary to crack the adapter as well as the engine and pullcord vibration.
Yes, I think so too. I'll use it until it dies.
My dad had this same 1987 216 john deere 4 speed manual he bought from the elderly neighbor next door many years ago. I have memories of riding on it with him mowing the grass when I was like 2, 3 years old. Eventually he wanted to upgrade and bought a JD 455 diesel and put the 216 up for a good minute it sat outside rotting a little for a while and he didnt really have any use for it anymore so he likely just was gonna get rid of it so I decided I wanted to keep it in the family so I actually got it apart in the garage now taking my time buying new parts cleaning up all the rust on it from pops letting it sit outside for a few years after he parked it. I can't wait to get it back running and using it again. I'm either planning on using it for shows and parades otherwise I plan to use it for landscaping business.
Very cool! Thanks for watching!
I have that same mower mint, but with the Honda 16.5hp twin. Gxv 530
Nice! Honda engines are great!
Nice find And fix
@@henrymurawskibigdogrepair thank you
Nice fix. Wonder if the shaft got a little bent when they hit something. Looks like the engine was shaking a bit.
@@MrGoosePit I agree. Although I couldn't see a definite bend, it does sound a bit off. Thanks for watching!
Is it still going
It is! I own approximately 18 lawn and garden tractors (most don't run). This one is my main mowing machine. Thanks for watching. I have a second DLT3000 that is currently for sale.
it will change when cover on and camshaft get support on both sides of its shaft ends. then do the clearance measurement
Got a free Poulan, just needed new lines and a Chain, this Helped Me Lots! Thank you 💯

i have a 42' craftman lawn tractor very simular to that one just smaller its got a 13.5 hp engine from 1996 i dont use it to mow but it has some mods on it like lights and chains
I'm fixing to pick one up for $100 that just needs starter gear replaced. I hope is worth it
@@jq4692 if that is all it needs, it's worth it. Check out my video on how to replace the starter gear.
That was overly simplistic. The axel has 2 slotted groves. Apparently there are matching grooves in the wheel. If need be , when reinstalling the wheel, how are the grooves aligned?
@@peterlewis2881 the axel has only one slotted groove and the wheel has only one slotted groove. Easy to line up and press the square key in place.

Greetings, I bought a new 2024 Toro time cutter max 50in, (Briggs Stratton engine) after 40 minutes of use a dripping oil from the bottom of the valve cover of one of the cylinders. What do you recommend me to do. Lowe's says bring it back and give my money back or go ahead and resealed as you did on yours? Thank you so much for assisting me 🇺🇲🎉🍾🇺🇲
It should be under warranty. Get a new one. You shouldn't have to put money and time into such a new mower. That is my opinion. Thanks for watching.
Thank you!!! this was the exact issue I had and was able to fix it with the same technique as you.
Happy to help!
When trying to remove my PTO clutch, is there anything to keep it from spinning when I’m trying to loose the PTO clutch?
3:35
I mounted the battery and a solar charge controller in the box with a small solar cell on the lid of the box. Stays charged.
Nice!
What orientation does the belt guide go back on? I can't seem to place it without having it run on the belt.
that exact fuse on my mower melted into the box ,does that mean there is a bigger issue ?
Something is going on there.
Just Google "is Husqvarna woke".I know what mower I WON'T be purchasing.go woke go broke.I Google "is (insert name of company im considering) woke" before I buy ANYTHING NOW.

2024. Been scratching my head. Couldn’t figure out how to get spark back! Watched this video and went out and cut the ground wire from the coil. (Building a mini bike) it fired first pull. Thank you man

I've never seen such bad belt routing and pulley layout on any other make of garden tractor.
Thank you! I have mine apart right now to take carb off to clean and broke the tube on the back side of carb! Mower is 12 years old. Gonna have to order a part and reassemble and this will be great visual reminder of how it goes back together hahahaha
Happy to help! Thanks for watching.
Try adding a wood block between the clamp and the mower deck on the outside. You can tighten better without scratching the paint.
@@richardgrayson9934 thanks for the input
Don’t know why someone would put one of those small batteries in it….they aren’t as good / don’t last as long. Not really a mod, because you’re bringing it back to stock.
why cant we get metric only sets with no skips
Good question. Thanks for watching.
not to be that guy, but tektons impact sets are far superior and better value. You get more
