I've actually been through a similar situation this song depicts. One day in my sophomore year in HS, this girl came up to me outta nowhere and asked me to the homecoming dance. I gladly said yes, and fast forward to the day, we were about to become a couple; or so I thought. Because at one point, I found out the hard way that she already had a BF, and lo and behold, he was there too. I then had to watch them kiss, right in front of me and everything too.
