The question in Lake County is why so many fire occurrences in the same area? Near the Hospital, Walmart, Woodland College? It's rough in there, lots of burned over trees, high density of mobile homes, dirt roads, a large concentration of unhoused folks. A lot of trailers, clutter, debris and ratty sheds. Obviously pass thru truck traffic along HWY 53. I can count a dozen fires in recent years in this area. Lake County has suffered more than %50 of the county burned. Coming from a place that does not get these types of fires, I wonder how people sleep at night knowing that they are on the list of people who need to be ready at a moments notice to evacuate. It amazes me how fast these fires can spread, and I can’t imagine how you wouldn’t be a nervous wreck not knowing what will happen. Wishing everyone the best and hoping you all stay safe.

I’m a resident of Running Springs, I left work early to go get my belongings and they wouldn’t let me home. My kids had to pack up our belongings and bring them to me at my parents house in Lake Arrowhead. This is devastating and we all need to pray for our fire fighters who are working around the clock to keep our homes protected🙏🙏

Almost lost our cabin in cedarpines park during the terrible "old fire" back in 2003...missed us by 100 yards. Have since sold it...fire threat just too much. Brings me right back to 2003 watching this. Prayers to all up there!

I just looked at the qtac site. Very nice equipment. When I started with the Forest Service in the late 1970's, the district had a couple of 4x4 pickup trucks with slip-in units ready to go in the parking lot. Any employee in any discipline with the basic 32 red card was on call during fire season. We could and did respond to lightning busts and abandoned camp fires very quickly and effectively. There was bigger equipment available if needed, but very often the small, nimble units, with a few people, got the little fires out fast. Then all that went away and along came these monstrous expensive specialized and complicated fire trucks. These new trucks were 'way too big to go places the smaller pickups handled with ease. Special training was needed to practically even ride around in one, much less operate the pumps and so on. Most regular employees no longer went on fires. I always thought that was a giant leap backwards, and a big loss in basic functionality. The success of qtac in making the small slip-in units shows there is a place for this type of equipment.

Do they know how it started? If it's a man made fire they better get decades in prison. There are too many hurting & stressing people, too much destruction of the forest & the wild animals that are in or near the fire are in trouble.

My grandparents live in running springs I hope there home will be ok they left 2 cats behind they couldn't get them one an outdoor cat and a indoor cat there's also people still in running springs that we are in contract with

Your channel showed up in my feed because I made inquiries about the Line fire which I live near ( I'm in N. San Bernardino). I want to thank you for all the info on the fire . You showed a valuable and unique perspective that I could not find anywhere else and really helped me to understand the characteristics of this fire, so I subscribed. In answer to your viewer's question about the humidity. I have lived in this area for over 30 yrs. and this is typical of our low humidity for this time of year with Sept. and Oct. being usually our driest months.

I just moved to Redlands! Holy Mackerel!!! I've been watching everything from my front windows. Since Wednesday night when it all began. I been watching different fire trucks from different cities flying by, some super monster trucks, bull dosers, giant water tanks trucks! Pray for all the people and families, and animals!!especially for Our Fire Fighters‼️🙏💙💙💙 This a Monsterous fire! The winds don't help.
