How, in the case of on the client's side, can EVM be applied, given that for Capital Expenditure, money is expended, but not earned. It would appear that as a client, earned and actual is the same thing, but just a matter of when accounts dept. Registers it. Thanks again

I am sure the concept of earned schedule is floated by someone who has never been a scheduler on a project. The completion date is always calculated by scheduling tool (p6) which is dead precise. SPI was never intended to get the completion or end date of project. It's used as a monetary bench mark against which the work done (EV) is measured. I wonder why it's being inculded by PMI

So, are project admins above or different than Project support tech or Supervising project coordinators? Proj. Support Tech, which works with the Project manager to keep minutes and coordinate meetings, new employees' badge??? etc.

I do like your statement about Project Controls and consider it as like a driving licence one has and can drive a normal car to expensive cars and SUV etc. The driving skills remain universal while adapting oneself to drive various types of Cars.

Considering the way we manage construction projects at present point of time we place LOI based on prevailing Tender stage IFC drawings and best price received from various vendors and placement of order based on subject to Client Submittal Approval. Ordering in Construction industry varies from project to project with varying specifications and quantities. Use of Blockchain would be ideal for Bulk items with placement of repeat orders or for Manufacturing industry with fixed rate contracts on which orders are to be placed based on inventory levels and production schedule. The prevailing Construction industry is using Document control system along with agreed electronic file formats at present point of time to manage the communication between Contractor, Consultant and Client based on agreed documentation and document flow procedure with agreed timelines as detailed in the tender documents. Use of Block Chain in undertaking this process of tracking submittals ( material / shop drawing/others), correspondences, RFI, RFIT etc appears to be under utilization of its potential. I did like the potential of utilization of Block chain with 5D modelling and linking it to schedule wherein construction progress during each month or billing period is recorded and preserved for future claim / retrospective analysis as contemporary records for claim purposes as we will have the planned vs actual quantity installed and capturing actual material, labor, machinery etc used as well will ease the requirement for capturing actual for Project Controls along with undertaking and reporting earned value analysis. Block chain can also be used for Quality control snagging / De-snagging, As Built drawings etc.

Interesting conversation about future ML / AI in Project Controls, It willl be further insightful for the audience to add some short presentation by the Guest in their domain expertise.

My understanding based on the Conversation especially for FP contracts Client can ask for reporting on Resource based EVM as Contractor will have no issues in capturing and reporting based on Resource Earned, Actual Resource spent based on daily Reports for both Internal and Client Reporting. Accrual based Actual Cost capturing can be done away with considering the reconciliation requirements. The Issue am still looking for practical / sustainable solution towards the challenge of Infrastructure and dedicated resource setup required for Capturing Activity based actual material and direct resource consumption to exactly pinpoint the cost overrun in a 10 K to 20 K activity schedule. Please share your thoughts and insights as part of the solution.

Request you to add a video on creation and monitoring of Cash Inflow and Outflow on Project, Project Profitability analysis on an ongoing basis with guidance on necessary tools to capture and report

We can look at introducing BAC (t) , ETC (t) & EAC(t) metrics to forecast completion times similar to Cost forecast by factoring schedule performance with time metrics

The EAC of 2.9million considered by Brian is also unrealistic and going by current CPI rate EAC works out to 4.2 million also needs to be factored before calculating TCPI
