York was a Viking settlement called Jorvik. Danish Vikings, led by Ivar The Boneless (great name!) invaded York on November 1st 866AD and renamed the city Jorvik.
York is one of the world’s most haunted cities. There are over 500 different recorded ghosts in York.

This is my first of the stories offered on your channel. The reader of the tale has a lovely voice, but had a tremendous problem with correct pronunciation of more and more words as the recording progressed. I know that many channels have started to use A-1 as the reader of stories, and this is often the cause of errors. Moreover, the reading actually turned back, repeating a scene. I am so sorry to point this out to you, and hope you will take this humble criticism as a simple suggestion.
