FYI luke is not the poster boy for SF. He is just them trying to push and rebrand to hit a new audience. All the MMA BS that is more popular now. They tried it once before, and failed, with alex in SF3. MK keeps trying to get rid of scorpion as the MK mascot too, but fail. Boon always wanted lui kang to be the hero but fans all like scorpion.
One thing I often think about, especially after SF6 and MK1 adding 1/2 of the season DLC to guest characters and fortnite or dead by daylight basically advertising other games/IPs in their games. Why cant we just have a universal fighting game with cross over characters from each game. I mean if we can have sub zero and chun li in fortnight, or ryu and kazuya in smash bros, why cant we get an actual fighting game that has MK, SF6, tekken, killer instinct, KoF...list goes on, characters in it so every player from each franchise would want to play it. Would have to be classic 2d of course so some tekken or soul calibur players might not be completely happy but damn I am sure all the FGC would love a game like that. I bet we have all wanted an SF vs MK game since the 90. Same that we would all want a marvel vs DC fighting game.

Look at scorpion how soft and feminine he looks compared to how he looked in other games. I don't think he will fight anyone because that is offensive and violent and that will cause people to zero themselves. I'm sure he is non binary in this Mk1 universe or is undercover a 🌈

See if you can do some maths on games like tekken 7, MK11 or even SFV and see the player count vs sales figures. @@________________6325 What game and where is the source of these figures? Assuming you mean MK1, well there is extraneous circumstances with, specifically that game (and tekken 8 I guess) on console because of the pandemic and its effect on the console gen change. Because it is not on PS4, where a large amount of the console players are still on last gen. Then add that MK1 is a trash game and many people have either moved on or gone back to MK11. Maybe even MKX. You would probably get a more accurate representation with MK11 vs SFV or tekken 7.
Two of them did and no one liked it. It sold so poorly that it killed plans on doing it again so......
SF X tekken only sold badly because of capcom being completely scummy, on disc DLC and DLCs that were pay to win so it killed the online because there were players who could just stomp your ass from the get go just because they had money to burn. Plus the entire meta gem system was so convoluted and unnecessary that it put off even fighting game vets. A lot of us dont like forced tag games either. Not bad as an alternative mode but forced tag is nonsense.
I thought of a way to make scorpion's flame port work. it should still be a fast, powerful offensive left/right mixup tool in games that don't have a block button, but it hits high so it can be ducked in the neutral or during block strings. making it combo-able on hit but unsafe on whiff or block seems balanced to me.
