I saw it with a friend. My opinion is very unpopular cuz I didn't like it due to the writing and pacing. I give credit to the visuals and acting though but overall it wasn't my favorite film from him. A lot of great ideas that didn't really come together that well. It seems like the reviews for it are pretty divisive. Glad you enjoyed it ! Def gotta talk about this movie again on the channel. A lot to discuss spoiler wise
It was enjoyable but I did adjust expectations and what I anticipated it might’ve been while watching. It really was more of a thriller/adventure type of movie when I was expecting more horror elements. My friend was right too when he said that he wished we got more of the family history and all. There’s definitely some narrative flaws here that could make it fall flat, other alien movies did a better job and portraying otherworldly species. I guess same for me the acting really did it for me and the smart planning to try and ‘play’ the alien in the story. The cinematography is TOP. Love seeing a black man on a horse tbh hahah with a western vibe, a category of film that was always mainly white as fck.
