Valentin Kovalev and Aiwen Zhang began their journey together at the Paris Conservatory,
where they were the only 2 saxophonists admitted in 2018. They came to the United
States to study at the University of Michigan in 2020. Natives of Shanghai and Siberia,
they now live in Philadelphia.

@@pravi_81 way too small for the tubaxes , they are tenor and bari range, just very wrapped
@@jamiepritchard8179 tubax doesnt mean they have to be low in tuning. Or do they call the ones above bass trumsaxes then?
@@pravi_81 only eppelshiem makes tubaxes, those ain't eppelshiems, bore profile is too sax like for a tubax anyways, that Bari bell is the same size as a regular one. They ain't tubaxes for sure

I was always jealous of brass players who were able to multiple tongue as a vital part of their technique. Then I marched drum corps on a brass instrument and realized multiple tonguing is way easier on a brass instrument.

The beginning was bad. And there is no sufficient blues inflection in intonation.
I thought it was pretty good! It had really good inflection, especially from a primarily classical player.
@@duzapetwa The beginning was shortened a lot. It is difficult to play this on the saxophone, because on the original clarinet, correct phrasing is achieved by slowly opening and closing tone holes with finger tips, little by little. This is difficult even on Boehm clarinets with rings - you really need clear tone tones. Unfortunately, sax has keys only, so the effect can't be achieved because of the timing of the keys on the saxophone. The sax must be mechanically tweaked to manually control timing.
