Slide show of the 10-14-23 partial solar eclipse in Southern California. We got the partial eclipse, whereas other areas got the annular eclipse with the "Ring of fire". These photos I shot from the beginning through the maximum coverage of the eclipse.

I made an error in one of my factoids last night and just realized it this morning. I mentioned Lynndanger had a different name when I first started photographing OCRD as "Lynnstigator". I was wrong in that name, as that is the name of a skater for Mojave Rattleskaters. Lynndanger used to be called "Killinda track". My apologies for that error.
Brilliant.
I really like your setup.
Thanks! Just a simple setup of a laptop, wireless MiFi connection and a remote controlled webcam. My second time using this webcam to broadcast derby. The last bout I broadcast was 2 weeks before this broadcast. It's also on my channel 🙂
Thank you to everyone who tuned in to the live stream last night! Y'all rock!
Thanks for the info Chuck!
And professional wrestling took hold.
Who are these people? I skated better than this when I was 13yrs.
I must (at least) give them props for skating on a BANKED track!
That's about it. They are atrociously out of shape
Oh dear. Roller Games rears its ugly head...
Congratulations Everyone!
Bad camera angle!!!
Chuck, thank you so much for coming out and mentioning our Sponsors and Vendors! We appreciate you!!! - #23 CVDG
My pleasure. I'm glad I could be there and live stream this bout. 😁
painful
Who is #40?
The S.F. Bay Bombers #40? That would be Tony Trujillo.
@@MrNeatoMiniStock13 Thanks.
@@MrNeatoMiniStock13 That number should be retired on any team called the SF Bay Bombers.
@@MrNeatoMiniStock13 Didn't he skate previously in Roller Games?
@@donniehagy5125 Yes he skated for Rollergames from the mid 1970's until the 1990's or early 2000's. After that, he skated for the ARSD under Dan Ferrari. Skated for the Brooklyn Red Devils and the San Francisco Bay Bombers. Mostly skated Red shirt in the ARSD.
Both teams wearin white. Brilliant decision (not)
Well, Bob, they are far and away better than the clowns who call their sport "Derby.": Skated on a flat track--and they can't even stand up!
To slow nothing like the original
That's fair to say. Most of the skaters in the video, skated for the T-Birds organization in the 1970's and 80's. There are some newer skaters that at this point, only trained for 2 or 3 weeks prior to this game, which is part of the reason for being slower. 🙂
I was there
Great video! Looking to buy one of these myself. How do the images look on the computer after transferring them from the SD Card?
They look close to the way the actual images look when I took them and had printed up. They look a little brighter with the scanner, but look slightly darker on computer. It's still a great scanner and is great for scanning old pictures and saving them in a better resolution. I just wished that the way things looked on the scanner would translate better in video. Maybe I'll do another video. One good thing about this scanner, is it comes with an HDMI cable, so you can view it on an HDMI TV or computer.
@@MrNeatoMiniStock13 Sounds great. Everyone on YT shows how it looks like on the unit, but I haven't seen it go straight into the computer or printed. Thanks for the info!
Dude i so Felt that fall for a week after !
Why is the track so flat? Where is the bank? 😂 🤘🏻🛼🤘🏻
They couldn't slide the banked track frame under the sport court. 😂😂
Just saw the drag van at No Prep Kings in Tucson earlier this year…
and they should actually have began to skate these games more legit the theatrics are unnecessary they actually ruined the sport
even though these guys are skating in their 50s mostly they still skate a good game at a good clip compared to some of the flat track games
great job lali!!
I love the action of this period...Stephanie mean as ever and wouldn't have her any other way.Lali is still the Queen.
Nothing like skating in horse crap! 😂🤣😂
It would be the last ARSD game played in Southern California
Sad to say, this is true! I don't think there was another ARSD game that was played after the July games.
Ice Box is making deals with the Devil herself, all of a sudden?!!!!!!
Chrome Dome Craig McDonald is all bark but no bite!!!!!!
Why do you insist on running your mouth? Learn to skate and then we can discuss beating your ass on the banked track...fool! 🤘🏻🐿🤘🏻
@@ElLuchaCabre You got a lot of brass, but no class
Lorin Miller And you got a lot of mouth and no brain 😂🤣😂 🤘🏻🐿🤘🏻
What the hell does that mean?!!!!
I rest my case....dead from the neck up, this one is 🤘🏻🐿🤘🏻
This dude is dope! I have seen him drag race before
These ladies are not nearly as impressive as the skaters of the past. The 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s were the best.
I can agree. Some of the skaters here, skated for the L.A. T-Birds organization in the mid 1970's and 80's. Some are related to Ralphie Valladares as well, keeping the famipy tradition going. Some are newer skaters as well. 😁
So true I miss players like Joannie Weston, Ann Cavello, Margie Laslo and Sandy Dunn.
Loved Patsy Delgado and Deadly Debbie Van Doren skating for the SF Bay Bombers!!
Ahhh the memories! Thanks Chuck!
the GTO is owned and race by a husband and wife. she race sportsman, and her husband races pro. they are a great couple, and some great people.
I went to a few of their practices. Even some of my teammates guest skated with them. So honored to have Sweet Stephanie as my coach now!
I'm on the pink team! :) Thanks for capturing video. That's awesome!
I was there that day i was just more over towards turn 4
FIRST!!
I did - at the football game and again during the scoring of the talent competition. Sorry you missed it.
Why didn't you play this one?
I'm trying to remember you Shirley. Did we call you by a different name? Only a few people remember the Maverick and the Torino and called me Robbie. Are you on facebook? you can find me through the Drag Vans facebook page
i used to hang out in this van when when i was a teenager!! still running great Robbie!! miss the Maverick and the Torino thou!! love watching the Van rip it up!!!
Thank you. :-)
Chuck, this is the Freshie B/W scrimmage.
Painful to watch, but all the PaRolees skated your butts off there. They just managed to successfully block out your jammers. This can also be a good learning tool this way you can study thngs so that way, you can kick their butt next season. ;-) I'm looking forward to next year already. :-)
This was painful to watch!!! OUCH!!!!! It was a great experience tho,. Thanx chuck :-)
I have a STYX sticker on the back bumper of my Ice Cream Drag Van from 1983 when i saw them at the Pantages Theater. I have seen them 5 time total but had to miss this one cause my son's band played that same night. Thanks for posting the video
The group that I went to see, where I shot this video, most of the skaters have 30+ years of experience on the banked track. Some were part of Roller Games with th e T-Birds and were trained by one of the best, the late "Guatemalan Flyer" and Legend, Ralphie Valladares. I've been to a few training sessions with them, and they practice their strides as well as endurance. They are skating in Vegas at Texas Stations on Aug. 25th.
yes, if you are talented, it's very easy
