how did it go? my hunch is it would tend to get too hot quite quickly then cool down quite quickly when the fire went out. My cold weather small boat cruising heating method is just have a hot water bottle in the sleeping bag. I know someone that made a vest that could take a hot water bottle front and back, for under the wet weather gear while on watch!
@@dominictarrsailing It didnt go too Hot quick, but it cool down soon after the fire went down. Weather was aeound + 2-5 c.
@@KaamosBoats interesting. I bet a double layer on the tent would make a big difference. condensation tends to form on the outside layer, but the inside will be dry and I think it would be worth it for that, but bet it would stay warm longer too
I’m building a similar boat right now. It’s going to have Lee boards.
Good speed ! The paint - is this two part paint polyurethane ? ( I saw that You used some serious breathing protection )
Great cockpit tent. Turns the boat into a proper mini cruiser.
Hello - what is the glue in the tube that You are using - I assume that it is not epoxy but very convenient !
@@misiumalowany hi, it is polyurethane glue. Soudal purocol. I use it for gluing stringers etc
@@KaamosBoats Thank You - this will really speed up the process!!
So cool! Camper/boat
Nice, let that be lesson always wear a PFD. Not too sure about the fire though. 🇦🇺👍🍺
miss my homemade puddle duck but i just got too old
Thanks for sharing this. It’s useful information as I start building my own Goose Explorer.
I made additional dry storage to inside cabin. If you havent build roof yet you can build those, but needs extra sheet of ply
@@KaamosBoatsGood idea. Where in the cabin did you make the extra dry storage?
@@vlocipede drive.google.com/file/d/1WKi1LNDH0ZDChLHMUHot7-QpLd58lc9k/view?usp=drivesdk
@@KaamosBoatsthank you! That looks like a great solution.
Great video, Kitos!
For a 12 foot dinghy with a lid, this is very impressive. With a small float at the top of the mast, it would come back up dry.
Make a swimmer on top of the mast?
Nice! Serene paddle and beautiful sunset. I love your boats.
Thanks
You should pull the motor all the way out of the water it’s dragging and slowing you down
Yes you are right. I actually noticed it , but I didnt mind it...
Just bought your plans today, I live in Brazil and Florida, will build Goose Explorer in Florida first for sailing the inland waters, and maybe a bit of Gulf Coast. Do you know of any that have been built in the US south-east?
Hi I dont know anyone, but you can ask from Goose Facebook group : facebook.com/share/kkg1sCu7kseDLKUa/
What a beautiful sunrise!
This is why I'm a fan of the pivoting center boards as opposed to a dagger board, it'll just swing right back into the boat an do far less damage, provided that your going forwards of course...
100%. I live in a very rocky place and wouldn't have half as much fun without the peace of mind of a pivoting centerboard. Just need to dig chips of rock out of the rudder with pliers on occasion... (A dory's slanted rudder post with sliding pintle is also key here.)
Where's the build videos? :)
czcams.com/video/uqoPSU_tshg/video.htmlsi=oVj0xkINlB5mYT5u
That's a kayak... Got the build for the boat in this video?
Had to watch it twice as I could not believe - this magic ! ;-)
Hah, thanks!
So cozy! Where do you sail? It looks like south western Finland. My father was born in Jurva. What kind of camera is on the end of your stick?
Near Jyväskylä, Juva is actually quite close , ca 120km away, close to where my father has born - Anttola. The camera is inta360 camera on end of long selfie stick. ( stick is left on blondi angle so it look like a drone shot )
@@KaamosBoats kitos. My GoPro is on the brink. It keeps going dead just when I need it. I think it’s the battery connection cause if I pull the battery out and back in it works for about 10 minutes.
Crikey, that definitely wasn't sand!
Had to be a stone
Owee! Glad the little man didn't tip overboard! Love your work!
Yep, nothing serious happened..
wow! Have you done any damage to the well?
Only to back edge of the centerboard needs some sanding and epoxy, Nothimg serious...
What about all the gear? 10 liters of water, hammock, tarp, titanium stove, food, etc etc ? another trailer behind that one perhaps? :D
All fits inside the kayak while cycling. When paddling and bicycle os inside- hmm maby not..
Oops❗❗❗
Çok güzel. Ne kadar balast var? Balastı ne ile sağlıyorsunuz?
Hi, no ballast jos youtu.be own weight.
It's brilliant)) I had the same problem when I built the kayak...I found a way out, the front wheels are from a wheelchair. They are just 8 inches, under the inner diameter of the hatch, with a camera
Thanks for comment
This looks like a puddle duck.
Desde Argentina! You are great
Ha Thanks!
Your boat is great, but your camera is a sh..t !
This is pretty cool. You are a very creative fellow. Is this an off-the-shelf tent? If so, would you mind sharing info about it?
Thanks, I drew the tent quite quicly and just sew it.. I think it can be used also without heater
@@KaamosBoats Very impressive that you designed and sewed the tent yourself! You are the designer of the Goose Explorer too, right (as a modification of Storer's Oz Goose)? I would love to see more videos of it. Do you think it is reasonably safe to sail it in protected coastal waters? It looked like the kids who sailed with you in a prior video really enjoyed riding in it on what looked to be a lake (I am trying to inspire my little one to enjoy nature adventures in boats, and I bought the plans). The Ooze Goose (also your design, I think) looked really practical for similar purposes too, but alas it seems to have been retired. Surely those huge flotation tanks would make them pretty safe.
@@Chinchilla27150 thanks, yep
RockStar!!!
Nice!
It is flame retardant, so lets hope it wont burn...
Your ideas work! I've build two yours kayaks and in this summer I will build third - pro a canoe !
@@rafabrodnicki8215 vow, thanks!
Super! Is this special cloth that it is not burning?
How many knots were that speed?
Hi , I dont know or remember. It is quite a long tume a go..
This is Luonteri? Is it the same design as the ones that fit your bicycles?
This is luonteri. Yep, I have fit bicycle with this one and also to shorter one, which I havent make plans. I am drawing bicycle modifications ad on to Luonteri plans which shows bike mods. Thanks Perttu
Thanks for the subtitles!
Wow, not very fast, but very cool!!!
The cabin was the most impressive part for me
How long is the boat?
3666mm , www.kaamosboats.com/goose%20explorer.htm
@@KaamosBoats thank you
Really impressed with the canoe designs which you can paddle and sail including sailing with outriggers. Wow ...! Would it be possible to have a joiner in the middle of the canoe for easy transport? Kind regards Carl from Australia ...
Thanks. It would be possible. Now that canoe is joined nrar Stern, from two full ply sheets lengtg
first
thats the goose explorer? whats the name and where do i get the project
Hi Yes it is. There are also sailing wideo on my Chanel and plans can be found duckworks.com/goose-explorer-plans/
A legjobb nyaralás....
This looks a great build, have you done any capsize tests? I guess you're sacrificing some bouyancy if the cuddy gets swamped
Ho I havent , maybe I Will on nect summer. Cabin hatch should be closed and secured, when there are risk of capsize, then not much water should go inside the cabin. Thanks.
oh wow, that looks fun!
Clever folding design, Top👍
Thanks!
Nice bicycle design!!!
Thanks!
If you don’t mind me asking, what thickness of material are you using?
Hi, 4mm ply
