Daffodils During War
White daffodils in full bloom at Golan Heights nature reserve.
The Nov Meadow Nature Reserve's unique conditions make it a breeding ground for beautiful and strong-scented flowers.
During the winter months, Nov Meadow nature reserve is full of white daffodils that can be enjoyed on an approximately kilometer-long circular walk.
The reserve, located adjacent to the town of Nov in the lower Golan Heights, has swamp-like conditions due to a confluence of factors that make it a unique habitat for wildflowers.
There is a wide expanse of nearly flat ground, high precipitation levels (some 550 mm. per year) and clay soil that becomes sealed when wet. The result is that rainwater accumulates on the surface, thus creating swamp-like conditions. The reserve is full of seasonal flowers year-round. The winter flowers include paperwhites (bunch-flowered daffodils), irises, crocus-leaved romulea and yellow asphodels.
The paperwhites, which are now in full bloom, can be seen from afar and have a strong, fresh smell that pervades the area.
Israel's Nature and Parks Authority created a circular trail approximately 1 km. long for visitors to enjoy the flowers without damaging them. Parts of the trail are wheelchair accessible.

Land is part of the Golan Heights that Israel is occupying. It is part of Syria. Should not be advertised by TripAdvisor.

Fire trucks police ambulance can not get through cul de sacs and the roads are too narrow for both emergency vehicles and also for passing safely there needs to be more room for farm vehicles with wider birth. Do not let city people haphazardly plan there needs to be wider roads and proper planning to city areas . Parking also in emergency no road allowance for safety.
No cul de sacs they do not provide security they harm all. They need to make proper roads in israel there are none currently . The communities need to be planned properly not haphazard . Proper roads in grid pattern are safest and best . The police or army have to be able to get tanks or patrol armoured vehicles through so no more cul de sacs north america was destroyed by that.
