Oversized loads are certified the HP. The carrier gives the HP all the info on the load, total weight and dimensions of the total Semi, and the HP decides the route. The certifying officer collects all the info, coordinates with other offices and decides the route. The driver and/or caravan has to stay on the HP certified route, and everything is legal and guaranteed by the HP office.

I've seen it happen too many times. I've got 30 years working the roads in Utah. My buddies mom had a truck wheel rip down the side of her car like a can opener. A junior high girl in Heber got hit by one walking home from school. It killed her. We need drivers and mechanics to step up and work on the pretrip. I've seen loose lugs on vehicles right out of the tire shop. Most of us do a great job. It's getting scary.
