I provide a tab and the tuning in the description. I only write the tabs for Jesu, Darkestrah and other niche bands. For bands like Marilyn Manson, I just choose the closest tab on UG, although most of them are terrible. For covers since 2017, I record the audio first and then mime the video afterwards. I generally only play these songs for the cover video so I'm not used to playing them so it's a lot more efficient to record the audio first rather than trying to nail a live playthrough with a song I probably only learned an hour before and will never play again.

All guitars in E standard (E A D G B e). I used a beat slicer for the trem part but you can use a square wave tremolo. Live, John5 does a "manual" trem effect where he uses he pick and fingers to simulate the use of a trem. If I cover The Last Tour on Earth I will show how to do this.

This is really cool. I have a question, I’ve asked this to you or another person who covered another MM’s song. In the band there’s only one guitar player but you are covering two different guitar lines. Why is that?
In the studio most bands with a single guitarist will record the rhythm parts twice, once for the left side and one for the right. Lead parts are usually overdubbed after the rhythm parts are done. Sometimes a band with one guitarist will still record variations in the left and right side so they aren't always playing the same thing. So with my covers here I am demonstrating every single part. If I was playing this myself as a single guitarist live or even just in my bedroom, I would play whatever the 'main guitar part' is, even if that means jumping between parts that were recorded separately in the studio.
Thank you very much for your complete explanation. My confusion came from the fact that I compared your cover with the live version of the song on the 2001 concert, Guns, God, Government. At that concert, for the love song, John 5 plays everything live so they never have two layers of guitar (at least not for this song). But after your comment, I listened to the studio version and it’s exactly identical to your cover. However, it seems he is only playing one string or maybe two. So, my guess is he probably has that chord ready to play afterwards but it’s kind of weird.
@@MemerDad he's playing octaves on the 4th and 2nd string with his first and pinky fingers. His middle and ring finger are just muting strings.

What would be the Drop C# tuning equivalent on a 7-String guitar? I want to know because I love the Drop C# tuning. Plus I love watching your guitar covers; you're epic at nailing the tones here and even the Marilyn Manson covers (I had to keep relistening because I was mindblown everytime how it sounds like the album sounds!)
F# C# F# B E G# c# for dropped and the same but the low string is a G# for standard. But then it would still be dropped from 5 to 6th strings so could get confusing. Personally I would just used a 6 string for drop C#.

Good cover! The only correction I’d say is the “live your life” part is three chords not four - it’s open, third and first fret, no second fret. Apart from that it sounds awesome 👍
Very nice cover. Curious in the chorus the Tele track on the left-hand side of the screen is your tone on than cleaning compared to the right-hand side Tele? I am guessing the right-hand side power chords has more distortion and the left-hand side is cleaner and sits underneath.
They both have the same distortion on them and are panned 95% to their respective sidea
