    Hello thanks for the video, but could u please elaborate more about how constraints work? So i have a shaft that is not uniform in diameter, on one end its connected to a couple that transmit rotation from gearbox, and on the other end its connected to a bearing, and moment is applied along the shaft going againts the direction of the motor rotation. To simulate this, how do i put the constraint? Thank you very much

    • @farida7777777
      @farida7777777 Před 3 měsíci

      The trick is just to constrain it at the coupling point and then apply the moment where the shaft is resisted by the load. That is the easiest way.

    I've seen some people section washers. Are we supposed or not? Or does it depend on your school? (if that's even a thing because this has to be a universal language)

    • @farida7777777
      @farida7777777 Před 10 měsíci

      Good question. In general they are not sectioned. Sectioning is only there to get a more complete view as to what is happening on the inside of an object. If hidden detail will not be able to tell the complete story then sectioning is used in complex objects. I know that Autodesk Inventor sections washers and it is removed manually by the students to show an unsectioned washer. Anything can be sectioned as long as it does not remove details from an object that is already clear. I rather prefer washers not to be sectioned as per the regulating drawing standards.

    • @farida7777777
      @farida7777777 Před rokem

      The corner in general are neglected in sectional drawing. The purpose of such a section is to get through the centre of the holes. The holes are the places where assembly components will be placed. Please see a similar example on this link. czcams.com/video/3lGFp-LA0l8/video.html

    Not sure what is the intent here. Discussing assemblies and NOT including a discussion of tolerances and their outputs seems an empty discussion. If the entire purpose was to show the order of assembly by feature, a quicker explanation could have been done. This should have been more explanative.

    • @farida7777777
      @farida7777777 Před rokem

      Sorry if the content discussed does not fit in your scope . This lesson is not meant for those who have advanced understanding in Assembly drawing,it helps students with what they realy need to understand the basics and meet them where they at. Tolerances is an all together different chapter in the syllabus. There are many types of tolerances for holes and shafts where different fits are considered and it is way to advanced to include in an already time consuming and difficult chapter I.e. machine drawing. Our students has only 9 weeks to learn engineering drawing as their focus is more on computer drawing afterward. Thanks for your comment it is much appreciated.

      @@farida7777777 This I understand, that said, I'd suggest that this would be a better introduction to basic assembly by including certain necessary knowledge such as fits, perhaps mentioned during the breakdown. for the level of knowledge, you are conveying, I'd suggest perhaps starting with the 2D but overlaying 3D and using those models to illustrate. This would focus your point of relationships with quasi-realism. you can then draw back and forth between the two representations. I simply am saying don't skip basic engineering design for an attempt to clarify.

      Hi, thanks. Could you please do a video as you suggested and post it on your channel, I will gladly include the link under my current video for people that would love to see extra information concerning tolerances and relationships between different fits. For engineering design it is required but not for the current basic entry engineering drawing. It's a 9 week first year semester 1 course. But please kindly go ahead to give an example in video format on how you would do it and I would reference it under this current video. Thanks. God bless.

    • @farida7777777
      @farida7777777 Před 2 lety

      Yes, its absolutely essential. This video was made after a plumber installed the wax on top of the seal and it leaked. As an engineer I developed this method and it works, my toilet is still fixed. You can also as an extra seal take rough sand paper P60 or lower, run it around the inside circumference of the exit pipe 3 times applying ample pressure. These grooves will act as mini seals when the wax enters them. This will do the job even beter as the water will need to dig under these waxed grooves. This increase the efficiency of the wax seal.
