Take a trip to Lake Norris, Tennessee and explore the islands, the caves, 200 ft deep...you can spend days on this lake and never experience all it has to offer...oh! and the food! Stardust is yummy, Beach Island is great, Tiki Bar, Lone Mountain...all delicious...our family favorite is Jimmy's Place at Norris Landing.

Several of us brought the kids to the lake we grew up at...Kentucky Lake. We visited the Rock Quarry to see if our kids were as dangerous as we were. We visited Ky Dam Marina, King Creek and The Moore's. Awesome good fun!

We took a couple of the kids to Navitat Canopy Adventures to check out the trees. They had a blast. It was fun but for a 200lb 45 year old with neuropathy, it was wobbly and quite the workout. :)

Great memories, Confused me though. The original Dekades I remember were Jerry, Kenny Smith, Butch Chadwell, Larry Bowling and Carl Stanifer. Attended many practices of this group in Jerry's house . Other than Fred and Jerry I do not remember any of these guys. I think after I went away to college.
Yeah if you google them there’s a website that pops up and tells the history about them. Sone played for a year then came back, sone were there the whole time. I think “the Dekades” consisted of roughly 20 members over the decades. ;)

We just visited from Michigan for the first time last week (our friends live in Speedwell) and my sweet 4 year old has been so distraught over the flood..♥️ he keeps saying he’s so sad that speedway Tennessee flooded (he thinks y’all are the same town) Anyway, thank you for sharing! My husband and I were driving up 119 towards Harlan yesterday (3/28) and there was a shed, a truck and a utility trailer floating down the river. Such an eery feeling.
It was crazy for sure. I’m just glad it was not long lasting like many floods in other parts of the country.
My family came from there. That is some beautiful drone footage. Y'all need some Yankees to come down there and build y'all a damn dam or something.
