Nearly every manufacturer is missing the boat in small truck demographics and needs. But to have Toyota build something this bad is truly a mistake on every level.

Just yesterday i received an email from my dealer that Toyota is dropping prices on Tacomas.... hmmm wonder why???? Was a Tacoma guy, had two 2nd gens..... my '15 is still in the family... i decided to buy a '24 T4R this past April because i didn't want to gamble on the new Taco.... very happy with my choice.

Prices are higher but dealer was very aggressive on deals. I leased a ‘24 Taco SR5 double cab 2wd for same as my ‘20 Taco basic Sr model. No problems with it & turbo is strong. Love it.

If it can haul at least 1000 lbs or more and pull 5k lbs for under 30k, I’m there. Just don’t cheap out on the interior, and use the Tacoma’s gear box.

Glued on TV monitor on dash is BUGLY. Compare to new Frontier integrated design. In the new Mexican soft Taco, both manual and automatic transmissions are blowing up. And yes, the styling is a cartoon caricature. Frontier has has very few teething issues.

Hmmm, turbos sooner or later break, and can harm the engine as well. If the mpg is not better, then the 4cyl turbo is not going to last as long as the old 3.5L six, non-turbo. Coming from a company that remanufactures turbos, I will guarantee that the previous Tacoma owner with a V6 is far better off than a new Tacoma with a turbo 4. Just wait and watch!

33,000 that's not the starting price. When you get to the dealership it's more like 41 for the basic Tacoma. Nobody in the right mind would pay $45,000 for an SR5 or an SR with a 4-cylinder turbo. On top of that because they put all that technical crap in there that nobody ever uses insurance companies have to raise their prices. Go back to trucks paying trucks forget to EPA and dealerships need to stop using that excuse. And those prices I said earlier are before dealer markups and fees and taxes

I'd take a basic hybrid please, no turbo and a simple CVT. Rav4 Hybrid and Prius style = indestructible. Not a band aid iForce tundra/taco style hybrid...

The new Taco is terrible from bumper to bumper period. Overpriced, far to many corners cut. Not the Toyota i remember

I work on and build trucks for commercial company and I see the windows stickers on these trucks I build. A bare bones no frills half tone truck is 40-50k. I also have seen what my company gets the trucks for, and it's no 8k it's 30k for a stip down work truck.

What I want is a reliable vehicle that has air conditioning and a stereo. That is literally all it needs to have. It doesn't need to be computer controlled, self driving, or "connected". Give me this kind of simple vehicle, and I will definitely think of you next time I need a vehicle.
