My Factory GMC Wheels get stolen
zhlédnutí 14KPřed 5 lety
Here's the video of the ass hats that decided they needed the factory wheels from my truck. The upside is at least they left it on blocks instead of dropping it to the ground, which reduces the amount of greater damage. I guess it's time to upgrade the cameras and alert systems around the house. Can't really tell what kind of 4 door car it was, but the tail lights are rather unique to the model...

      If you're running this as a guided trail during EJS, pack a lunch. Trails run at least 5 to 6 hours, depending on how often stops are made. If you're running it on your own in a smaller group, it can be done in under 2 hours.

    hi there I just installed the Synergy drag link without flip adapter on my 07 JKUR. The installation went smoothly with no problems. I made sure the drag link was the same length as factory one but my steering wheel is super crooked and my traction control lights are coming on. I know its easy to fix with the stock drag link. Just loosen the adjustment sleeve bolts and turn. This one is different. Do I have to take the whole drag link off to straighten the steering wheel? Thank you.

    • @aznjeep1
      @aznjeep1 Před 4 lety

      They were just the factory GM wheel locks--1 per wheel. After getting the wheels replaced and doing a little research, I now use 2 different locks for each wheel. One is a recessed spline, where the outside of the lug is smooth/round, and the "teeth" are set all the way deep in the socket (5 of these per wheel). The other lock has a free-spinning cylinder on the outer portion with the "keyed" portion inside of it (one per wheel).

      We ran Copper Ridge again this past EJS. The only 2 real technical parts are in the video, from 7:30 to 8:50, and 12:23 to 13:03. When in doubt, just get out and look over what you're about to traverse, then pick the best tire placement. I've worked the Sophomore package years back, and many stock vehicles have made it through, although you will most likely test out your skid plates in some places.

    Wheel lock lug nuts only keep the amateurs from stealing your wheels. Add a shock sensor to your factory alarm. Or engrave your VIN on the "outside" of the wheels, I would rather have a small VIN engraved on the "outside" of my wheels, than no wheels. Thieves will not want wheels that are engraved with a VIN, and will not try and grind it off, that would ruin the wheels, and they could never sell them, at least to any sane person.

    You can switch the suspension into jacking mode. Can and should. I have the MOPAR rock rails too. Rare to see in the wild. After doing mine the dealer said he'd never do them again. After I took it back for them to do the 2/3rds of the job the first guy didn't do, and the foreman finished it in two hours, he said that actually it wasn't a bad job and they would do them again. The first guy never worked on my vehicle again. Thanks for the vid. Not sure if I will do this myself or let the dealer.

      I did those rails in my garage. I don't wish that on my worst enemy. They were NOT fun to put on.. not "difficult", but it takes a LOT of patience when using the provided "tool" to get the bolts through..

    • @cageordie
      @cageordie Před 5 lety

      The tech took two days and left off the inner bolts and the flag bolts. When I noticed them moving (!!!) and checked and took it back, and showed the body shop manager the empty holes and missing clamping bar he gave it to the foreman. The original tech had tossed all the parts he didn't fit. So they had to order a complete new set just to get the hardware. The foreman completed the job in under two hours. I don't know what they did to the tech, but they didn't fire him. I did get them to agree that he would never touch my vehicles again.

    Thanks for the great video. I went to the dealer today and had them change the oil and after driving it back to the office, maybe 3 miles, and opened the hood to just check the level. The oil on the dip stick was black. Is that normal? I guess i am wondering if they thought they would short cut and not change the filter.

    • @aznjeep1
      @aznjeep1 Před 7 lety

      Well.. generally, yes.. the black in the oil of diesel engines is produced by soot, so this is a good sign. Having said that, I usually check the level just after I filled it, so I'm used to seeing streaks of black oil mixed with clean oil. Then, I'll check it after it ran for about 10 minutes at idle. After the 10 minutes, I wouldn't say it was as black as the old oil coming out, but definitely darker than what I just put in a few minutes prior (clean oil mixed in with some residual old oil). When compare to a gasoline engine, diesel oil will get black much faster (again, due to the soot). So.... I'm going to go with "you should be fine". Just keep your invoices of all the service you've done at the dealer (or elsewhere), just in case.
