I support and applaud the archaeologists heroic efforts to save this valued artifact and to thus give us and future generations the opportunity to appreciate it's value, before it was lost to the rising seas and learn more about the culture of those who built it.
wow and i am in year 6, it looks so different
should have been left francis prior and his ego deserve an exhibition all his own...
Amazing documentary
I know this was a long time ago and YT was pretty new still, but surely we had better potatoes to make the video on back then too!
Eric was a dear friend who sold me my first scythe in2003 and l still cut sedge with it now in 2020.
God, my year 5 crush has been justified... xD (Epichunt)
Best city in the world; very diverse, very friendly, unpretentious and down-to-earth, beautiful buildings both quaint/historical and gritty/modern, beautiful river walks and above all, where I was born + bred ! Now I live in this shithole on the south coast called HASTINGS; inbred bigoted oik poser central UK !
I agree that Norwich is a fantastic city, with many highlights. My personal favourite being the gorgeous cathedral, made of beautiful french Caen stone, containing exquisite Romanesque interiors from 1096-1145. It has over 1000 painted medieval “bosses” situated on the ceiling vault - an unrivalled treasure! Of course Norwich contains much more. The 11th century castle for instance; a really unique Norman fortress! Norwich has also retained many historical buildings; that line charming narrow streets. Not forgetting an exceptionally well preserved medieval area - “Elm Hill.” The city contains over 30 medieval churches, and other non-religious medieval buildings such as the ”Guildhall”, “The Halls”, “The Great Hospital” (established 1249) and ”Dragon Hall.” There’s also pretty riverside walks, one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the country (established in the 11th century) and a Roman Catholic Cathedral (which is also worth a visit). Of course Norwich suffered damage in WW2 and as a result brutalist post-war architecture can be seen scattered among the old - yet not enough to have a major detrimental effect on its charm. Like most European cities, the historical heart is to be found in the centre; meaning the outskirts have sadly lost a lot of their charm (in most areas) - which is the norm anyway for most cities. I must say however I’m extremely surprised that you dislike Hastings so much, seeing as it has an absolutely beautiful “old town”; containing many quaint medieval/ classical buildings.
@@tamaracarter1836 I live in the old town ! shithole ! sure the buildings are 'nice' - a tad chocolate-box and twee for my liking - but the people are a bunch of small-town bigoted, oik, bohemian, pretentious, arrogant cunts ! Either local inbreds or 'DFL's (Down-From-Londons). trust me, it's far better in Norwich and East Midlands in general; normal friendly down-to-earth folk with no insecurities about their identity !
When I visit places I’m more concerned with the architecture (my personal interest), than the people. But I really enjoy living in the east, in fact I live in a well preserved medieval village (in a house built in the early 1400’s), close to Lavenham in Suffolk. I still really liked visiting Hastings.
Very good!

I grew up and love Norwich but this video is very poor. And can the tour guide sound any duller. Poor poor effort all round
Maybe it would be a good idea to build a museum at Salisbury to put Stonehenge in!!... just in case it gets damaged, ....... it's nothing less than sacrilege.
They maintain it they don’t leave it there to crumble my friend
my school
Paid a visit to the museum last week, 24th of June 2016. It's a great place, with a great atmosphere and some excellent biking postcards.. Everyone very friendly. George is the most knowledgeable bike lover I've ever met, seriously old school, thankfully! Plus... he makes a blinding cup of tea...but don't tell anyone!! Thanks George, had a great time. Thanks for the offer of a go on the motorised 'skate board'!! :-) All the best.
Do you use Seiga machine?

Why do people like to imitate Norfolk accent? I mean, I know nothing England. Is it like a super country side accent of England?
What. A. World.
Kid In The Red Hat Is SUCH A Fucking Clown!
Ah Norwich how glad I am to be continents away from small town thinking and its ineluctable populace.
What is ineluctable ?
Snob.
We are all very happy for you Kate. Just curious about your use of the word "ineluctable" . if the "populace were ineluctable", how on Earth did you manage to escape? Perhaps you just like using words, not for their meaning, but as junk, to feed the narcissism of a nasty mind?
@@connoroleary591 Nice!

I'm deeply saddened to hear Eric died in 2012. He was roped in for a charming interview and demo on the BBC auction / antiques programme Flog! now on heavy rotation on one of the freeview channels.
All that lot to kill a fox ! Ah well I it's safety in numbers I suppose...... my observation and asserts that the fox is probably more intelligent than a lot of them.
Thats not the reconstruction that was made by Time Team, is it?
All this 'burial site' stuff is just speculation. The pic @ 4:08 seems to indicate a multi-level building. Is not the upturned tree stump supposed to hold the weight of the epicentre? Think of the different elvels of erosion on those woods...
Multi-level building? In the bronze age???? The upturned oak simbolises the world turned upside down, it was a religious statement. Or perhaps it was a car park?
Is it be...cause of the university degree that they survived???
