Nice livery!
It was, unfortunately it's advert has expired and is no back in fleet colours
I've loved the boat tram ever since I caught it with my Nanna from Starr Gate - aged 5, in 1965 ! thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it! The Blackpool trams are what got me interested in transport too. It's always nice to see the older cars out.
I retired to Thailand 10 years ago from the North West UK, watching your videos of Blackpool Trams, I can smell the sea air and fish and chips! Thanks for the memories. GT
I'm glad the video has prompted good memories. Thanks for watching.
thanks! great to see 718 in proper service
It sure is! It's the second Sunday in a row it's been out. I hope we will see more over the summer too
I was there today. In fact I’m still here until July 6th.
Brilliant, did you manage to sample 718 on a trip? It's not often we see B Fleet in service.
@@StevenHughestransportvideos Actually I was at the Pleasure Beach today. This is my second week in Blackpool. I arrived here on June 22nd. In fact I come here twice a year every year ever since 2002. I know the history of the trams and the Pleasure Beach.
@@dannyohare3645 brilliant, it's certainly a lovely place for a holiday. Hope the weather holds out for the rest of your stay.
@@StevenHughestransportvideos Yeah so do I. I come here every summer and every October (for the illuminations), sometimes I go here three times, that other time is with an autism friendly group called Sail Autism on September every two years, so next time with them is next year.
Good Job. 👍🏼
Thanks 👍
cool
very good train video nice scenery
Thanks, glad you enjoyed watching.
Astonishing! I love these kinds of videos!
Glad you like them! I've got plenty more in my playlists. Don't forget to subscribe to be notified when I upload new videos from Nottingham/Manchester/Blackpool/Edinburgh/Sheffield tramways
I’ve subscribed!
That's great to hear. I'll be visiting Sheffield and Edinburgh trams again in July plus more from Blackpool too
An EWS 37! i thought ews doesn’t exist anymore
They became DB Cargo, however, 37250 has been repainted by the Wensleydale railway into the heritage ews livery.
Great video and very tidy looking locos from GBRF
Many thanks! Yes they do look very smart. If only the chocolate and cream coach had been the blue grey one instead it would have been an immaculate train. Still smart overall though
Nice looking locos
Yes they do look good in GBRf colours. Good to see them continuing in use.
I live in Middleton so Heaton Park is not far - thanks for uploading - I might pay a visit.
It's well worth a visit. As well as the lovely tramway the park is a lovely walk too. Only £2 return in the tram or £5 unlimited tram rides.
Thanks 4 sharing dude
You're more than welcome. I hope you enjoyed watching. I'll be back down next week to try and catch the day to day running of the tramway again
How come the police were stopping the traffic signals not working?
The signals were working correctly. They had closed Talbot Road to disperse a protest by taxi drivers which was causing an obstruction. The bus was trying to turn right which it couldn't due to the closure, and was then held as the tram got the signal to go through. The police remained in the area to ensure the protest didn't return and block all the roads again. (Nothing to do with the tram opening, just happened to coincide)
@@StevenHughestransportvideos Ah yes i thought it would be to do with that
@@Thomas-zs1rc initially the taxis had parked down both sides of Talbot Road but where moved to the left side and in doing so they had looped round Cookson At and Abingdon At causing a blocked triangle so nothing could move. The police then decided to close the road and clear the area completely as it was causing aggravation for other motorists and buses etc. was quite impressive watching how professionally the police dealt with the situation though.
@@StevenHughestransportvideos glad the police managed to sort it thought it would have lasted much longer then it tbh
Wonderful presentation
Thank you very much, it was certainly good seeing history in the making.
New top stickers too!
Yes indeed, hopefully it will be on the specials tomorrow/Friday for some better photos
@@StevenHughestransportvideos it dose seam a mess with all the fencing.
@@blackpooltrams6369 sadly so, a day which Blackpool should be proud of, marred by being in the middle of a building site. Certainly not the look you want when launching a 27m extension with a 30 minute frequency?
@@blackpooltrams6369 it does seem a missed opportunity to really promote Blackpool and the Tramway at its best.
Seems really odd seeing trams running alongside, modern vehicles. I expect to see an old Austin A30, or Ford Prefect. Nice footage you got.
Thanks Jack, yes it's a unique mix we have in Blackpool
Excellent video and very nostalgic. All the different bus liveries used to fascinate mw when I was a child.
Same here, the deregulation liveries got me into public transport. It's a shame the corporate era returned and now we just get 3 or 4 basic livery no matter what part of the country you are. (Obviously still a few independent operators but not as varied as in the 1990s)
Nice video bud nice to see 4370 ex NX COV been saved.
Indeed, although it still seems strange to me seeing vehicles so young in preservation. It was great to see more of the 1980s/90s era vehicles out this year too
Look at that blinking cable car in the background!! Now that would give you gorgeous views to film!! And although not a railway, it’s a great little trip!!
I did contemplate a ride, but decided a ride on the Elizabeth line was more interesting for me haha.
I went to a camping and caravanning show in the Millennium Dome using the Docklands Light Railway!! What an outing to have.

The Docklands Light Railway is a wonderful example of autonomous driving. The trains are driven by computers!! Great, isn’t it?!!
It is until you realise every tram I saw at Royal Victoria was being driven by the onboard staff, and some at Canary Wharf too. The "autonomous" driving isn't entirely as reliable as people would think from what I saw.
@@StevenHughestransportvideoswdym by 'being driven by onboard staff'?
@@Gfynbcyiokbg8710 I mean, the onboard PSA had the desk open and was controling the train. Some at Royal Victoria were running via computer but probably half or more were not. A couple at Canary Wharf also had PSA operating them.
Pretty much every service which I saw at Royal Victoria required some kind of PSA intervention to get the service starting again.

They should have gone for a street running tram system with humans driving the trams.
@@vonsausage6312They definately should not have
Lovely!! It’s the DLR!! A great little Tube line!!
Yes, although it's not a "tube" line as it doesn't go underground at any point. It's a great system though and soon to get all new vehicles tok
@@StevenHughestransportvideos It does go underground at Bank, but 'it goes underground' isn't what makes something a tube line. It's not a tube line because someone has decided that it isn't one. That's about it.
@@Gfynbcyiokbg8710 I didn't know Bank was an underground station, you learn something every day. I suppose it's been decided it's not an underground line, simply because the majority of the route isn't underground. I'm sure TFL (or whoever it was back in the day) had criteria for it being included or not within the underground ("tube") network
I grew up in aa city that had trams. Used to go to school on them. Jouned the Navy, and when I left to go and train for the navy, we still had trams, but when I returned home for my first leave entitlement. They had gone. I confess I always liked the ride into town in a Tram.
There is certainly something enjoyable about riding in a tram, be it the traditional type, or the newer LRT type. I've grown up with Blackpool Trams on holidays and then the gradual introduction of LRT across the country.
Nice video
Thanks
🦺⭐️ I see 45 gone now
Yes, all the buses which were in the tram shed have gone to new homes. Hopefully it will be seen in the road again in the future.
Really enjoyed Watching This Video....!, it was Great Seeing A Boat Tram In Service, Cool....! 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it! It's been a great weekend overall
Nice video i was there was a bit i was shame that boat 227 had an issue with the trolley but was good see wasnt a major issue as it was back later on
Ah, was it 227 that had the issue. I had to miss the middle of the day so only got the start and end. Hopefully it's back out tomorrow
Magic
Thanks Steve, I've just finished filming of day 2 which I'll upload tonight. Back out again tomorrow for the third day and hopefully more footage of the Boat.
@@StevenHughestransportvideos Ill Be Looking Forward To Seeing Tht.!, Must Definitely...!,👍 👍
It's definitely an elegant train spotting program !! Greetings from India.
Thank you very much!
here’s a question…. when they start running and going to north train station, will it be every tram or just a certain few?
I gather it will be every other tram which goes to the station. I believe it's every 30 minutes from the start of service. There is potential for more if the service proves popular. I haven't seen the actual timetable yet, but I do recall a pr update saying every 30 minutes to start with.
Great to see so many advertising and wish we could get a twin set back on the rails thanks for sharing.
Wouldn't it be lovely, the advertising contracts made the tramway most interesting. It's a shame we don't see the likes of these adverts on the new trams. I did hear suggestions a twin car is on the cards for return to traffic..
Grraet Photos...!👍
Glad you like them!
Cool...!,👍
Thanks ✌️
Thanks 4sharingv
Glad you enjoyed. I've got more to share over the coming weeks. 2003 is up tonight. I plan to go up to around 2010 when the traditional tramway ended.
That's me & my Mum. 0:29
0:40 what’s-
The vehicle here is the Ribble heritage livery from Stagecoach Preston depot.
Great video Mate
Thanks 👍
15:02 I was on that bus with my friend
Fantastic, hope you had a great day.
@@StevenHughestransportvideos I did
I think i saw this at Blackburn???
Very probably, I think it headed off at Lostock hall towards Blackburn
Colourful liveries on the trains in the Midlands!! It’s always nice to see such colourful corporate liveries like those!!
Yes, the UK rail network has a good number of colourful liveries.
How did this happen
Unfortunately a car driver had a medical episode at the wheel and his car ended up between the tram and a lamp post, pushing the trams front bogie off the track. Thankfully no major injuries and the car driver was given the medical help he needed and rushed off to Hospital.
