No politician will have a will to change the system based on meritocracy. Policy should be based on needs. Not all Chinese are rich and not all Malays are poor. Malay in general may think that they by having this policy, they are protected and somehow feel superior as original people of the land. However what they didn't realize is that the same way they discriminate non-Malay, they the Chinese & Indian will discriminate them in the private sector as some sort of "revenge" because bulk of Malaysian wealth is control by them especially in the big city like KL, Klang Valley in general where many of Malay from rural state come to find job opportunities. At the end, no one wins, the one who are loss is the Malaysia as a country. The Chinese & Indian is an survival race, they will find way to survive everywhere they go. The best way forward is to overhaul the whole system and focus on "people who are in needs and qualified". Only then Malaysia can achieve its full potential.

Singapore was once in the same shoes as Malaysia. Instead of praying in Religion for a miracle , Malaysia must eat the humble pie and emulate Singapore's success in governance.
