When you flow, then effort becomes meaningless. When you are really in tune and you channel the ideas that come through you, then it is even best to roll with the simplest of approach as to present it with the least amount of resistance. There is literally no correlation between hard work and the feeling of success or high effort and reward..
01:42, why does Sean Booth's heart feel so bad
Any music is a ”just” It’s just scales Its just technique Its just Nothing is good to those people Music is the olympics apparently
fucking Moby indeed
Boss RSD-10
Nice! TIght Part 2.
Sean is a cool dude
Fuck, Moby's got a mouth like a sailor.
😂
The best tracks come tend to come together quickly and write themselves!
Yeah, Senni was actually broke for most of the time he was creating this type of music and running his own label. Being so persistent in spite of his music being labeled like this or like that (but actually minimalistic and fresh, with beautiful ornamentations), is really inspiring. Him becoming big enough to be picked up by Warp records, was just the tip of the iceberg at that point in his music making career. He was already a fully formed and respected guy in the electronic music scene.
Been saying this for years
Same…but we don’t have the kind of reach he has 😉
In the immortal words of Butthead, "Oh, no, what is _this_ crap?" Sometimes the algorithm really misses.
Nice to hear you again, friend, Beautiful atmospheres.
"i look like moby" 🤣
Best wishes
I hate Moby ( grrr )
1:36 what song is this?
That was just one of the loops from one of their way old websites.
Good job on that 4k
Uh…what? First K is with the Fuze thingy. You can read right?
Lorenzo Senni's synthesis work is more than a preset though isnt it. Thought he had quite a bit of mastery of his JP8080 and uses some great subtle modulation. I assume he's talking about his pre-WARP stuff, because after that he has more complex arrangements
Does it matter? The point is, who cares what you like. If it sounds good to you, then it’s good. Who gives a fuck what anyone one else says.
@@TRaddcliff it matters if you want to describe someone's music and process accurately. I think it's worth noting. But yes the point of art not needing to be "difficult" to be good i agree with and that's the main takeaway. Just saying there's a bit more to lorenzo senni's music that's all
@@ritedI could care less what goes into it. I hate when people post what they use to make music or give it some long winded description. Don’t care. All that matters to me is does it click with me. He may have been using descriptors others have used to describe Senni’s music to illustrate the point. Who cares. You like or you don’t
@@TRaddcliffthat's fine, but many are interested in process. You must get furious when autechre mention maxmsp!
@@rited not really cuz they don’t tell me how they do it. Let me clarify a little. There’s a difference when someone is asked how they did something vs someone who posts a track with full descrip of what was used. That descrip is a way of selling the music. Rather than listen to it for what is, it gets listened to for what was used. Introducing a bias to how you hear it. It could go both ways. You may like or dislike some gear and that will influence how you hear it.
Yes, low effort has nothing to do with personal taste. But its also shitty when marketing is taken for the actual attributes of a piece. Y'know? Sometimes the piece is not necessarily that good or iconic, its just well marketed. You shouldn't confuse marketing zeitgeist with your own taste. Not to say they cant agree either. AND i also understand that in the end that's kinda what many arts are in a nutshell: marketing zeitgeist (physical distribution power) that gets adopted by people. Half money, half love.
i like his finger
we wanna be aphex twin!! not gonna happen
No shit dude. I suck super bad. Wasn’t trying to sound like anything, just how it turned out. But I agree…ain’t gonna happen. Thanks for pointing it out tho 👍🏿 I don’t set out to make anything, I just goof around and record it. I don’t know how to make actual tracks either…just the loop I post. I’m no musician by any stretch. I don’t wanna be anyone/anything. That’s fucking lame. I just want to like one thing I do before I die. You should hear the shit I don’t post 🤮
@@TRaddcliff :)
@@goldenfurniture123 Hey man, thanks again for thinking I'm trying to sound like AFX, I appreciate that. I'm just trying to not sound like shit. Havent achieved that goal to date.
Yes, once you start evaluating music by the complexity of the composition instead of enjoying it as it is, you're just distancing yourself of the sincere experience of listening to music. You either feel it or don't and that's it
Chin-Scratchers = Missing the point.
i like it
Man, the music is math loop is very, very short.
im sorry 😔 ya that one coulda been longer. for days even....
Haha
Look, exm, Jeroen Bax creates awesome stuff. He happily tells us he's mostly using FL Studio as a DAW.
Sean, how you made Incunabula and Amber???❤ What kind of drugs helped you guys? This albums are out of this reality...
Thanks…not good enough to get hired again tho 😔
Flubs on clubs you make good gumbs animations
Pretty damn flubby floob good
One life one chance is a sick track
Bro can i follow you on Instagram ? What's your insta id bro?
I know a fair few oft these are sort of remixes of known boc tracks, but for the other sounds - imagine it is a glimpse into their unreleased catalogue. Gives me hope for more music ONE DAY! One can only hope (sigh)
All sounds are loops from past websites in order of when they were live. Going back to their first website. I wouldn’t say remixes, so much as looped samples. Some from released stuff, some not.
@@TRaddcliff ah, that makes sense. (I should've read the title of this vid - tho it's the sort of name boc would have for an unreleased tape)
@@onewithsource9742😉
While effort is hugely correlated with sounding good, it is not necessarily causally integrated with the making process itself. You still have to get off your ass

"All you IDM kids" - Sean Booth
That's beautiful, thank you! I've been trying to find this track for months, literally. All I could remember was the melody.
