Dad played his old records and so many of them are stuck in my mind to this day and so almost 10 years ago, I began my CZcams channel. I don't recall anyone but Fats Domino ever singing this wonderful song. Nice to hear how JLL interpreted it.
There's a whole album that Sun put out recently and they remastered the songs and turned them into stereo. This is one of them and the album is up on CZcams. The late WC Clark is there too. Anywhere Angela Strehli was is where I wanted to be back then! I still love her and her music .. We were spoiled, getting to see them all at Antone's so much back then!

Love this old school funk . I see hip hugging, yellow and brown plaid bell bottom pants worn with a slim-cut wide-collared silky nylon shirt, a gold necklace, some funky boots and a really cool wide-brimmed hat with a pheasant feather. 😊
(I did not know JLL played the guitar.) My mother loved Jimmie Rodgers and thought he was better than Hank Williams. Its nice to hear a Jimmie Rodgers tune by one of favorite singers.
Jerry Lee idolized Jimmie Rodgers and also Gene Autry. Jerry Lee played guitar at the Toronto Peace festival... He played with Kenneth Lovelace and they did "Mystery Train". I think I have it on my channel. If I do I will share it below

I’ve loved this song from the first time I heard it as a child - and I love it still now that I am almost 50! Timeless music that speaks to any generation.
Clifton Chenier has been my hero for a long time. I went to his shows in Austin where I lived. He was a great man who died too early. His birthday is June 25 and on the 22 the museum in his hometown of Opelousas, Louisiana is going to have a program about him. I'm too far away, but I am sure there will be more about it on Facebook. What ever they call this music, what ever genre it is, I just love it.
Clifton Chenier was known as the king of Zydeco over there in South Louisiana. Before he came along that music was in the woods and old farmers and working class people gathered in old beer joints and played the music... Mainly accordion rub board was all you would hear. Clifton Chenier played accordion and his brother, Cleveland who played the rub board started traveling around and playing Zydeco in the late 40s. He incorporated the guitar, the drums, the saxophone and with that sound he traveled the world playing his brand of Zydeco. By 1955, he has already gone out to Specialty records in Hollywood and cut several sides for them. One thing for sure, it took him away from farming! But by the time he died at 62 years old, he had numerous awards as well as two Grammy awards.
