    Hello, is it possible to change the direction of rotation of the motor in the speed mode by activating a digital input?

    • @automationdirect.comdrives1506
      @automationdirect.comdrives1506 Před 2 měsíci

      @skyOfpersia, absolutely! If you set one of your digital inputs to 0x06 "Reverse Direction of Input Command" it will change the motors direction in either torque or speed mode. Thanks for the excellent question!

      @@automationdirect.comdrives1506 Can you not reverse using registers?

    • @automationdirect.comdrives1506
      @automationdirect.comdrives1506 Před 22 dny

      @skyOfpersia, you can absolutely reverse using registers. If you assign a digital input to 0x06 "Reverse Direction of Input Command" it will reverse the input direction for speed or torque mode. You can then trigger that digital input over a communication connection, such as Modbus registers. For further details take a look at P3.006 and P4.007 in the SV2 manual. This works for the SureServo 2. I have no idea if it would work for a different drive from a different manufacturer like the ASda B2 Delta.

    I have a question about the use of servo systems in CNC machines. The CNC control unit told the servo controller to move 100mm in the positive direction to the X axis at a speed of 1000mm/min. This movement should theoretically last 6 seconds. So what happens if a new order comes from the CNC control unit before the servo system can complete this movement in 6 seconds?

    • @automationdirect.comdrives1506
      @automationdirect.comdrives1506 Před 4 měsíci

      That will depend on how you are commanding the servo. What mode are you operating in? Pr? Pt? Also, see our main video channel as well for new content and tutorials! www.youtube.com/@automationdirect

    Is it possible to send a signal to this analog input using Ethernet communication?

    • @automationdirect.comdrives1506
      @automationdirect.comdrives1506 Před 4 měsíci

      You can change the three preset speed parameters (Speed 1, 2, and 3) over Ethernet while running the drive and motor, to alter the active speed. You cannot directly influence the analog input using communication. Also, see our main video channel as well for new content and tutorials! www.youtube.com/@automationdirect

    The Position CMD Data(PUU) field in the PR Mode, Data portion, is there a parameter you can set the value of this field and then run the path by setting the P5.007 parameter which would look at this register to go to this position?

    • @automationdirect.comdrives1506
      @automationdirect.comdrives1506 Před 2 lety

      Hi Joshua, I think you want to write a position to a PR Path and then run that path - is that right? If so, that's easy. Example: Write 50000 to P6.00 which is the position register for path 2. Trigger the execution of path 2 by writing decimal 2 into P5.007. As long as the drive is enabled and ready, then Path 2 should execute with the new position data (50000).

    If you are looking to connect a Do-More BRX PLC to a SureServo2, this video is not as helpful as the Do-More MODBUS TCP to SureServo2 video. There isn't much difference between MODBUS TCP and RTU, in the MWX/MRX commands.

    Where can I find a more in depth training for this system? I have a Cincinnati centerless grinder that i would like to retrofit with a system like this. I am unsure of which mode would be most appropriate for this application (PT mode or PR mode) I have viewed all of the Sure Servo 2 videos you have available here on CZcams. I want my system to operate as follows: From home position, operator jogs axis to a touch-off point, touch-off point is established (operator origins position on HMI), operator then inputs desired feed amount (.0001" - .001"), operator then presses the +feed push button once, servo then feeds in positive direction .0001" from touch off point, servo feeds the desired amount with each press of the PB, axis is then retracted back to home position with the "Retract axis" pushbutton. I have a pretty good understanding of plc ladder logic (installed and programmed several click PLCs along with AB PLCs) but have very little experience with programming precision accurate positioning. Thank you!

    • @automationdirect.comdrives1506
      @automationdirect.comdrives1506 Před 2 lety

      By Line Drive we are just referring to your standard differential pair. For example, if you pull up the quick start guide here: cdn.automationdirect.com/static/manuals/sureservo2/inserts/ss2driveqsg.pdf and go to section (8) on page 2, you will see how to wire the SULSE and SIGN for single ended NPN or PNP. The video is saying that will work, but to get the best noise immunity, you should drive both the + and - side of the SIGN and PULSE inputs. Most PLCs and controllers are setup to do differential signaling like that, but most users ignore it.

      AutomationDirect often re-brands vendors equipment at the Vendors request - they have their reasons. We also often augment the vendors equipment to provide even better value for our customers. So it is not always exactly identical to the original vendors hardware. I can't comment on whether this is a Delta drive or not for legal reasons, so you will have to use your imagination there ....

    FYI: Your warning that opening the motor voids the warranty is a violation of FTC rules! See: www.ftc.gov/news-events/blogs/business-blog/2018/04/ftc-staff-sends-warranty-warnings Basically, people are allowed to have the things they own serviced by anyone. This includes the owner servicing it on their own. I understand that there are plenty of idiots out there who should never attempt any sort of repair or inspection; but will do so anyway. However, those of us who are qualified to perform such repairs should not be penalized for the behavior of others. Thanks for the informative video. I found it to be a great refresher on servos. I particularly found the ferrofluid demonstrations helpful. They make visualising the flux pattern and how it changes much easier!
