I hope follow-ups to Carson's The Homebrew Industrial Revolution: A Low-Overhead Manifesto do fewer cheap shots against Rand, who has been dead thirty years. Atlas Shrugged sells 500,000 copies each year. Many Rand fans are Galt's Gulch oriented and should be recruited, not just corporate fascist Randroids who deserve his harsh words. Just asking for balance. Carson's history of centralized production contrasted with new open source efforts is superb.
Carson has built a great body of work and I as well would love to see his thoughts more openly discussed and talked about, especially here in CZcams land but the video above IMO doesn't do Carson justice and one might even wonder who you are mocking more at the end of the day. Instead of worrying so much about Randians, why not focus more of Carson's work and what is so true in that. jmo
I actually agree with Carson's analysis for the most part, but when you think of homebrew low-overhead off-grid living, "Galt's Gulch" comes to mind. Some of the Rand fans could easily become libertarian, if not left libertarian and certainly could be convinced that decentralized self-reliance is preferable to being a gridhead.
