Thank you this is wonderful. I studied as an adult with Luigi in the 80s and 90s mostly at the Broadway studio. I almost cried watching this footage, I recognize so many people! It is impossible to describe the magical feel of the studio and being in the presence of Luigi. I took plenty of classes with Francis too and still do the warm ups on CZcams. Luigi continues to be very much alive for me. Thank you Francis for keeping the legacy alive and for never stopping moving! A quote of Luigi that I often repeat to young people is: If you do the wrong thing long enough it's going to feel right, wrong. Ain't that the truth???!!!

When i turned 10 in 1973 n was just starting on my musical journey i came across a plain looking album that was purple w jesus christ superstar that was in silver. Not knowing nething bout what this was but a believer even then in jc i listened 2 it. I played this n nothing else 4 like a wk since then i've been captivated by this rock opera- it also made me a lifelong fan of andrew lloyd weber☺️and in all the retellings from the 70s film 2 this day it still enthralls me! Hopefully now that i'm 60 yrs old i'll finally b able 2 c it onstage 🤩that wld b just WOW tho Ted Neely and Carl Anderson 2 me will always b the GOATs in my book🫡😇

I’ve seen this particular production twice in the last 6 months. JCS is my all-time favorite musical/rock opera. I’ve seen at least a dozen productions, both professional and amateur. The voices and choreography in this particular one did not disappoint. The dance/props were unique and impressive. The use of the guitar for Jesus was intriguing . Ive never seen that done before. I I didn’t hate it but it did take away from his performance in the Garden of Gethsemane of I Only Want to Say. Obviously both hands are occupied but the guitar severely limits the options for physical postures. Again, I felt like the actor did the best with what he had been given to work with for that number. But as a direct result of these restrictions, he was unable to convey the intense emotions in Tim Rice’s gut-wrenching lyrics. Due to the emotions conveyed by the actor on the soundtrack released in the 1970s, “I Only Want to Say” fundamentally changed my understanding of Christ’s dual nature. I first experienced JCS with the soundtrack only, when I was about 12 years old. Of course I knew the torture was physically excruciating for Him, but I guess I thought because He was also God-incarnate, He wouldn’t have struggled with the anticipation of it like any other man would. I must have surmised His pain would have been at least somewhat dulled because of His divine nature. But this song and the way I first experienced it (strictly audibly) was the first thing that helped me to see the mystery of the hypostatic union for what it truly is. And that paradigm shift allowed me to appreciate His sacrifice for my sin in a way I’d never before appreciated. Plug for The Chosen, a multi-season project of the life of Christ through the eyes of those who knew Him best. Outstanding production. Streaming on CZcams and also playing on the CW. Always free (unless you choose to see it in theaters like they have done recently for several episodes. Seasons 1-4 are complete. They will do 7 seasons, 8-episodes each. So impressive. Even my son with a masters in media communications and special interest in film-making is impressed with it. They say even non-Christians including atheists are enjoying the dramatic story as The Chosen portrays. There’s an app to give you all the details. Can’t recommend it highly enough. #bingeJesus A blessed Lenten season, Holy Week, and Easter to everyone who has taken the time to read this far. ✝️❤️🙌🏻

Showed up on my screen Blown away by superb interview video on esteemed a jazz master Luigi. The knowledgeable & skilled team members on video and mostly Francis Roach. My teacher took his fantastic class today though a very dedicated Luigi student over* 50 years Found I learned a lot and new history. Wonderful. Advise every sincere student regardless of age,profession needs to see hear this video. Thank you and for transcript also.

The reason everybody is old at the Straz shows is because they start their Friday and Saturday shows at 7pm. It's the early bird special theater. LOL. Young people want to go to dinner and a show, but you can't go to a nice restaurant at 5pm and then to a show. That's why most theaters/shows in NYC start at 8pm, not early bird special time. These audiences are ancient.

This was the Most AWESOME experience we had at the Straz. My kids 10 and 11 yrs. old were mesmerized, entertained and wanting more. And me 2. Thank you for bringing quality, culture and delightful troupes here to enchant Tampa Bay's scene. Come back again you WICKED crew!

This was a poor tutorial. Didn't even give instructions on how to end the life of a chicken let alone a mocking bird. Also there was a trial for some reason??? IDK everyone knows mocking birds are exempt from the US court of law since the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918. Darn slippery posers. What a waste of time. Time that I could be using to go see a play at David A. Straz or something (I hear they have really good plays). I also heard that the Center for the Performing Arts has a play by someone named Aaron Sorkin? I should've probably seen that instead. Also, not to get political or anything but the bad guys seemed kinda racist. Anyway the story is great. Came for the foul murder, stayed for humor. 8/10

All of the queens looked absolutely stunning and sang amazingly, the ladies in waiting were killing it on the instruments, it was so funny, tear-jerking, and entertaining! I’m so broke but it was so worth it to buy some souvenirs of the occasion, it was priceless! I’ll never forget it 🎉

Saw Dracula on opening night at the Jaeb Theatre. It was marvelous. Very traditional and perfectly executed. See it if you can!
