Hey Hamilton ! So for the freewing f-22 8s version , Are running it in a series connecter or parallel connecter? They say series is double the power , so if using two 4s battery’s would it be 8s or 16s? , and they say in parallel is double the time , so in parallel are you not getting your full 8s power? Thanks

Were you too slow I'm thinking with that heavy pack you have to keep up speed in turns .I have the same jet but I never fly with the heavy pack I love the 5000 pack flies perfect.I don't think the trade off is worth it for a few extra minutes of flight

I'd suggest that one flap servo failed and one went into the correct position, or one flap control rod may have failed. That's what it looked like anyway. I've had a flap control rod fail and it looked like that, but I always have my flaps on a 4 second slow deployment setting, so if something goes wrong its not as abrupt and you should have time to recover. Not a forgiving jet the F14, quite the opposite in fact, just part of the hobby, but it hurts, we have all been there.

I bet it was the radio or the gyro I don't think it was the pilot I've had some weird things happen to my planes with spectrum radios

So I made a comment awhile back suggesting it happened cause you put the flaps down while in a steep bank. I would now like to retract my statement as is becoming more evident that the FW control box or mixing board is at fault. I crashed my Avanti a couple weeks back for no good reason. I tested all the servos and they are fine. The ESC is fine as is my rx. When the mixing board is plugged in the servos lose 70% of there strength! I believe this is intentional by FW so that you run right out to buy another, never suspecting it was there junk to blame. I have since then hard wired all my servos to the Rx and they now operate at full strength. My apologizes. It was not your fault at all.

My DS-51-DIA-HST arrived today. I have put it inside my F-22 fuselage. I thought it will be a 30min job, but it took 3 hours(!). This fan is 93mm EDF with a very large intake lip (which I had to trim by half anyway), plus the ESC wires need to go around it, rather all together on top - I had to cut out A LOT of foam to fit it all. If you did not do the work yet, get a hot U-shaped wire for styrofoam cutting first.

My long term ongoing project was also to make the most powerful Freewing F-22, it looks like we are on the same track. Currently I am using a Schubeler 90mm HDS with HET 700-75-1250 on 12S, but yesterday I also ordered a 93mm HST fan to step up :) One tip from me: the ducting is OK for the stock motor (little difference between reference values and installed thrust), but for such extreme setups, both inlet and outlet are way too small. I removed the duct splitter (two horizontal cuts) and added a cheater hole in the EDF cover, just in front of the fan. This has increased the performance by A LOT - for no cost or added weight. I don't have the old values, but I after the mods I have 6.8kg (15lb) of installed thrust at 155A using SMC HVs. I hope to get 7.5kg using some less amps with the HST.

It's sad the loss of such a cool plane. I'm flying the L-39 AF with Turbine. Was it the range test, connector-, cable-, wing-fuselagconnector failer, radio antenna, Power breakdown.... ? But despite not a reason to cry into the camera :-)

I saw you had oscillation issues with yours also, just finished an easy mod that fixed mine. I added small stabilizers the the rear and bingo wing rock no more. Adding a jet fan with 130amp ESC and new motor to mine like to hit 160mph or so now the rocks gone. I’ve shared pics on 2Bros discord channel of my mod. Nice flying bro
