A little tribute on what would have been her 55th birthday...a very haunting song especially in light of her recent death. This song was a hidden bonus track on To Whom It May Concern. May she forever rest in peace ❤ Lyrics: It's finally winter and I'm so happy...I do better in the cold I like the friends who don't try to save me, I've been trying that too long What did I just say, can you tell...
Up To The Mountain (MLK Song) by Patty Griffin cover
zhlédnutí 410Před rokem
Forgive a couple voice cracks...still trying to kick covid I've had since New Year's. Anyway the piano on Patty's recording was played by the late great RRHOFamer Ian McLagan, who played with Small Faces and Faces and collaborated with the Stones. I just love what he did with it, as I believe Patty originally wrote it on guitar. Katerina

FANatic was an MTV show that featured fan interviews of their favorite celebs. The interview took place at the United Center in Chicago. The girl her name is Suzanne did a fantastic job! I have only included the interview part, there was some more footage at the beginning of the show where her cousin first told her the news that she had been chosen from her video entry. This video got immediate...

Nancy Wilson How she plays Battle Of Evermore on mandolin
My very first pro concert / actually the Dreamboat Annie tour the year before.
i love that woman, have always loved that woman ever since i saw heart live many years ago in fla. was the hottest ladies in music and will always be in my book.
Nancy is a goddess
U rock, Nancy!
Not my favorite version
Nancy is a perfect 10!
Love how she explains everything up to the harmonics 😂
Love this!
This woman is marriage material..;so lovely
Where's rest the video I wanna hear them sing it!!!
There's a link in the video description...click where it says 'more' 🙂
Nancy has always been the most powerfully talented female guitarist in herstory!! ❤
Nancy Wilson is not only an excellent guitarist, she is beautiful, she has a phenomenal voice, they could have recorded more songs with her in the first voice, and Ann in the second voice, simply spectacular!!!
I'll be in my bunk.
This is as American as anything written by Aaron Copeland.
Timeless music
❤
She’s right, Cocaine took over the music world and I left Rock and roll in the 1980.
Heart were so 1970s and such a great rock band.
Nancy Wilson does an excellent cover version of The Battle of Evermore on her mandolin!! Thanks for sharing this tutorial to CZcams!
Congratulations! Just a beautiful mandolin. Enjoy it!
Thank you, I've been loving it! 😊
Damn, what can i say but wow! Amazing song, phenomenal talent and i can go on and on about her and ann!! Love her!!!
If you want to skip my commentary about mandolins and my quest to find the perfect one for me, head to 6:36 😊 Thanks for watching! Still working hard on a couple things to eventually upload--like Sylvan Song from Heart's Little Queen album-- but due to my very busy life caring for many rescue animals (dogs, cats and horses) my music time is limited. I always try to play every day but the trick is getting it polished enough to share. I will get there! 😊
When was this video recorded? Not posted, but recorded! Nancy looks young here.
1996 this came out 🙂
If I get this right, you are singing Robert's vocals while your sister-in-law is singing Sandy Denny's vocals?
You are correct sir 😄 I love Bess's vocals here, I've never heard such a good Sandy Denny cover and that includes Nancy Wilson's version. She and Ann have been doing that song for decades. At least we're singing the correct lyrics...A and N never have, for some odd reason. Never bothered to look them up I guess.
@@Katerina9256 Thank you very much!
@ClassicTVMan1981X Yes...and I meant to get back to you the other day, I am working as much as I can on getting Sylvan Song (from Heart's Little Queen album) down so I can hopefully record and upload. I can't believe how much time has passed since I made the mando unboxing video and promised some music 😬 I have a lot on my plate though with many rescue animals I care for, so things are very different than back when Bess and my brother and I were playing. Also because I'm always working on multiple songs on different instruments, it all takes so much time. Days are flying by but I shall never stop trying! 😄
@@Katerina9256 All the best to you!
@@ClassicTVMan1981X Thanks, I appreciate that!
Ella lo transporta a uno al cielo con su guitarra, gracias,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I heard this song on the radio and looked up how to play it then saw Nancy had a lesson 😅 nice bonus
Her guitar playing is amazing. But her voice is heavenly!
Hi Katerina, in the future I would like to request Heart's "These Dreams," their first of two number 1 hit singles and which also has a mandolin part; at first, this song had been offered to Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac fame, who turned it down. It was also the first time Nancy sang lead vocals, rather than her older sister Ann who was usually the lead singer.
Hi Guy! These Dreams is a lovely song, isn't it! Yes, penned by Bernie Taupin and initially offered to Stevie Nicks, who turned it down. Nancy has performed it multiple ways over the decades including on mandolin. She apparently is back to doing it that way on the current tour. I have a video on my channel with her doing it on mandolin and another with just her and Ann using her acoustic plus a flanger, which I thought was really interesting! Some people really disliked it though 😄 They have also changed up the vocal parts recently with Ann singing lead in the middle. This was not the first song Nancy sang, btw, there were many that came before it ..I believe Dreamboat Annie was the only album she did not sing lead on anything. I have a great transcription of the acoustic guitar version that Nancy started doing around the late 90s, and have always wanted to take the time to learn it. It first showed up on her Live at McCabe's solo record. There is also a real pretty mandolin song on there called Half Moon, and I do play that one! 🙂
@@Katerina9256 Thank you!
I guarantee you that I'm playing it correctly. 😊
I love her so much. Such a legendary musician ❤
Them "Doggone Butterflies"
Happy birthday Nancy. I❤️U
Her birthday is March 16 though 🙂
It’s mesmerizing to see how he plays them flawlessly. He’s amazing.
She's amazing and I never call anyone amazing
Excellent performance,awesome group.
Roger was the straw that stirred the Heart drink. The Wilson sisters knows this is true.
Video raro da Banda Heart. Irmãs Ann, Nancy Wilson. 🤘 😎🇧🇷
She’s an absolute Sweetheart! 😍
Awsome.
They were in their 50’s!
Best female guitarist in Rock...She's an amazing player... A true master.
She still looks gorgeous.
Fabulous
You don't see too many great guitar players with small hands. She's a treasure.
anyway to play that on a 12 string
It could probably be at least partially worked out on 12 string, but really would not ever have that authenticity that the mandolin brings. I believe John Paul Jones played the acoustic guitar part on a 12 string though. It's not hard if you want to look into it, should be some tutorials available. 🙂 ~~Katerina
@@Katerina9256 lol i bought an f style loar mandolin love it
It is all about the effin music 😆
Singles soundtrack... ❤❤
After all these years….I’ve still got a crush on her. She’s as pretty as ever!❤️
The arrangement of this song I thought was unique, Ann made me listen to the backup vocal and Nancy comes back with the same vocal lyric as lead usually it's the other way around . I loved it.
I love this woman beyond words. Total fucking icon, I’m obsessed with her
