Most of the time I ride a ZX-6R in advanced group with EvolveGT and N2. I also ride supermoto at go-kart tracks, previously on a converted CRF250R and now on a CRF450R.

I cant believe so many ppl are in advanced, you would think they would limit each session to ~ 20 ppl max for safety
@@YoungL_rd Pitt is a long track, so once everyone spreads out it isn't too bad. Though it can make the start of a session fairly exciting!
You would think that, but they oversold novice a month later. There were about 50 riders on track. With varying degrees of experience from first track day to advanced pace. I’m an I group rider and I’m fine with people passing me, but this shit was a madhouse. 11 red flags and a life flight at the end of the day. Take that for what you will.
nice lap times ...yes i was checking the competition lol, this session looks like my 2nd session ..... wait this may be same session.... i kept looking for me im still at 2min lap times
Damn that beginning was as clusterfucky as novice.
@@gtas1000rr I don't mind having some traffic to dice up every once in a while. I was working on expanding my bag of passing tricks this weekend, so the train of traffic was a good learning opportunity.
We had some fun playing at 1:45. That was a good run. I would have kept up more but we weren't supposed to pass on the outside unless the riders are moving away from each other.
Que som bonito
Hope to hear good news about the finger. (Monster 821 #320 in the garage)
Colin, please go to N2 and contact me…Casey Albert
Same thing happened to me at ncbike coming out of t10! I was also able to avoid hitting him.
Is the GoPro mounted @ a tilted angle? Good vid! 👍🏾
Yeah, unfortunately I couldn't find a good spot to mount it where it would be level, so it's canted at ~10 degrees. I could add in a few knuckles to straighten it out, but I've had issues with camera vibration if the mounting arm is too long.
@@colinvanoort4057 understood 👌🏾
Gotta rotate that camera a bit
Nice laps. We should chase each other around. When is your next trackday?
Sure thing, I had a good time riding with you at NJMP! I'm heading to PittRace with N2 6/13-15, then I'm not sure where my next one will be. I'm planning to do NJMP Lightning with EvolveGT July 13+14, but I might try to do something between those if I can figure out the scheduling.
@colinvanoort4057 Cool I'll be there too see you there but Im in N2s intermediate group so won't be able to ride together.
@@riderxtrackdays3418 I'm actually taking the race school on Saturday, so I'll be in intermediate for half the day I think.
@colinvanoort4057 maybe will get to ride some then. I plan to stay in intermediate with n2 so I can ride with my other friends who aren't advanced pace yet.
Man that was close. Those tar strips are the worst. Good job avoiding the rider and keeping it upright!
That's my buddy, Michael Goze. We were riding together on and off all day, but in the last session I was just chilling and taking some video of him, till the crash happened. The tar snake definitely didn't help him out, but he was also being pretty rough on the throttle all day (particularly in that session) and he's on an MT-10 (which has plenty of power to spin up the rear on demand). I figured that things were about to get spicy when I saw his rear start to step out to the left, so I was already backing off and drifting to the outside. Wasn't really expecting him to try to get under my tires quite so hard though. Thankfully there's lots of run off around T1-2 and it's decently flat.
Glad to know Mike came out okay on this. Overall, great footage.
Good stuff bro, I see the same dirty spots as 20 years ago....😂 😂. Nice to see your ap times coming steadily down. If I may, try leaving your get off the throttle point, until you hit # 5 signage at turn 1, you might have another half second right there...there's plenty of run off, if you need to bale...but you can do it...
Yeah, the exit of 5 has dirt in it pretty regularly. I think it has to do with the drainage there, though I've heard some people blame the car guys for potentially hanging their inside tire over the dirt there and pulling it onto the track. I've been playing around with my braking strategy in T1 this season. The last time I was there I was intentionally braking longer and lighter than my normal and it allowed my to carry more corner speed up to the apex. I think overall it was pretty similar timing wise though. I'll definitely try braking later next time. I think that my biggest area to gain time is in 6-10 though. There's so much room to tighten up my line through there and carry more speed.
@@colinvanoort4057 yeah, cool. I've been there in wet conditions, I believe it's a drainage problem, which could actually be fixed, if they wanted to spend a little money. Yup, turns 6-10 are tricky, like the way you short shift thru there. Have you tried not doing that... I get what you're saying about turn one, that's usually the safe way and it has its benefits, like you said he takes the panic out of the braking area and gives you a cool head to hit the apex and carry your speed. In general that's good advice, but you're not going to win races that way. Think of it this way, it's just a matter of mind set and what feels routine. Routine makes you feel comfortable and non-paniced. So with time and getting pissed off, for the 20th time, that you got block passed, has a tendency to expand your willingness. Then once you do it a couple of times, you have a new normal... Awesome, keep it up and the rubber down....
Hoping I can make it out there this season, awesome riding!
strong riding. More content please
Nice riding. Found some video of us riding earlier in the day and posted it up.
Great lines man! Did you get your advanced bump on this day? Looking forward to riding with you some time. 👍
Thanks! Yeah, this session I got eval-ed and I got to ride in advanced for the last session of the day. Unfortunately, my GoPro battery died so I didn't get video from that last session. I was running ~1:34s in intermediate, but with less traffic to deal with in advanced I had 3 1:31s and some 1:32s. Sure thing, hopefully I'll see you around!
@@colinvanoort4057 Awesome man! Yeah, those times are freakin' moving. 🤙
That had to be a fun day!!
