do you have a method you prefer to put the image you're carving on to the block? ie tracing paper, carbon, etc
Hello from Canada! Really awesome art!!! May I ask what type and brand of ink you are using for this multi coloured lon?
Really helpful thanks
Nice 👌
V v cool process! 💜tfs!
Can’t hear you
Please make more videos
Recently tried burnishing with a wooden spoon on nicer paper (Hosho paper, recommended by a random internet article) but lots of patches of the paper/fibers peeled off and got stuck on the block. Was it just too much pressure? Wrong kind of paper?
So nice
Great, thanks For Sharing
Thank you. Great job. 🦅
Great!!
Hello! Lovely reduction. Can you tell me what type of brayer you have? Not the smallest but the medium sized one in the beginning of the video. Looks lovely. Thanks in advance.
What a talent you have 👏
Here's the printmaker whose video I love. czcams.com/video/uzHRLz50gQg/video.html
Hi! Watched for the 1st time today and subscribed. I' ve watched a LOT ( hundreds) of linocut videos. There are very few videos where there's an explanation of how to carve a design. That is, what tool is good for what, and how to approach carving design sections; like the 3 step process of cutting within a channel that you described. The creation of a "dam" as a way to stop the tool from slipping as easily....that's gold baby! Gold! Now I know why my wrist and hands ached after linocutting. I was doing all these awkward, inefficient movements because I'm learning from videos. Question: Do the Japanese set with the thick, dark blue grey handles feel like they allow you to carve with less force? Finally, please consider doing a linocutting video where you carve in real time. It's actually very soothing to watch, not boring. Well.. I guess if you're not into it, then it's boring. Still, if you have closeups of the design and the tool, it becomes a way to learn, and improve. There's a printmaker I watch because he makes me better. I don't have a link now and I don't want to risk losing this message. I'll find it and add it in another comment. Thanks so much for this video. After watching you carve that little vertical channel, now I understand how to carve an image that I wanted to do for a while. I couldn't figure out how to do it though. My
Thanks for such a clear, straightforward demonstration, using "ordinary" products. You made it so much more accessible. Lovely lino cut, btw! 👌☺️
Thank you
3:20 on. Sorry, but if you want to explain something you need to know exactly what you are going to say. Otherwise you risk confusing the viewer. And starting the video with the print already halfway done is not helpful. I have done reduction linocut prints myself but if I hadn´t I don´t know if I would understand the process. Also combining printing methods (reduction and pochoir) while practical is not helpful in a demo. For an introductory video it would have been better to stick to straightforward reduction.
Thanks for your videos, I found these very well presented and clear. However I cannot hear your voice that good even though my PC is on top volume. Maybe you could invest in a lapel microphone or record the sound with your phone and overlay it later? Keep up the printing, your work is really lovely !
Wow 🤩 amazing design, cut and print. Well done Hannah & Georgia for the commentary
Do you clean your Lino blocks after printing? If yes, what do you use?
Impressive! I like the gold on black and the notebooks too.
Do let me know about linoleum sheet
Hi exiting
Happy to see real chine colle. So many makers calling stenciling chine colle
I've had some success hand printing using a secondary, clean lino roller :) I use that first, it's a roller specifically made for textile and it's kinda squishy. After that, I go over with the wooden spoon.
A great explanation of reduction lino printing..thanks
Thanks. This is excellent. There's nothing like watching the real process as it happens.. :-)
Very interesting, beautiful prints!
The retro tech subject matter holds a lot of nostalgia for me...cassettes, radios, walkmans, manual film cameras, synths etc. These items were always present and integral growing up. I have to say though that the registration for such a large piece and with as many layers must be a bit traumatic. Lastly, the colors seem appropriate for the era. Really great work!
Thanks for the demonstration. Lovely birds and i like the barbed wire in silver.
Gorgeous print. !!!!
WOW, really brilliant. Enjoyed the whole series of videos and the beautiful artwork. Can't imagine all the work that went into it before the printing. Thank god no fastforwards in your videos.
Impressed by all the colors. Understand you have to make some notes on the block. I like the quiet, slow pace of the video.
Very interesting.
Such a clever idea, that hanging system.
They all look beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic demonstration! Thank you for this! 😄 have an awesome day 😊
Reduction printing is one of my favorites. I was wondering what you do with the ones that don't make the edition. I use some of mine in collage or cut them up and make bookmarks. This is the hardest part for me as a maker and I don't think it is good for my creativity. Thanks!
Unreal Colours
Lovely
Gorgeous Stuff Hannah
Thank you!
I am JUST starting to play around with linocuts, and wow am I ever in love with it! So I REALLY appreciate watching your genius at work!!! Thank you so much!!

Thank you! 😀
thank you great tutorial !
Really find both your styles fascinating. Thanks for the open studio.
Thank you so much for watching and for your kind words Jan!
I think Lawrence doesn't sell narrow Duranthene rollers online apart from the very expensive ones with the brass frames. Very help video though. Thanks for sharing the information.
Glad you found the video helpful! Here is a link to where you can buy narrow durathene rollers, as narrow as 2.5cm wide: www.lawrence.co.uk/student-quality-durathene-roller.html
@@hannahgeorgialinocutprintm3157 Thank you so much for taking time to send the link. I can't imagine how I missed the rollers on the site. I went back a number of times. Very helpful. Thanks again.
