I've lived in Springburn since '99 and my finding since coming from a small town via edingburgh area, I can honestly say, the council tries it's best to keep the place running although not enough monies to go around. I found that the people here are the salt of the earth, even the odd junkies would give you the shirt of their back. It is so sad to see how derelict the shopping centre is now, when I came here it was busy, full of brand named shops etc The smoking ban did hurt it alot and its gradually gotten to the state it is now. The town I came from is uber hostile if you not born and bred. Just up from the leisure centre towards the tall high rises is the highest point of Glasgow and what a view! I enjoyed the video, its good to see the place through other peoples eyes and like yourself, saying its the poverty that brings the place down. Looking forward to watch the Springburn Park video

I think you probably weren't looking at either a football or rugby pitch there, but the Glasgow Mid-Argyle Shinty Club. AFAIK it's the only place shinty is played in Glasgow, a refuge for Highlanders. You should have a look. It's a tough game.
