    Dumb question but do you need a permit for this? It will be going on the side of the house not back yard. In Texas. I’m only asking bc a neighbor built one in his driveway n the city told him to knock it down. He was doing mechanic jobs tho.

    • @MichaelBuilt
      @MichaelBuilt Před 2 měsíci

      Where I live, permits are definitely required for this, or any structures connected to a home. I believe it will be the same in Texas. Permits will be submitted though your County, so they should have a website with more info.

When you get a permit does a person go and inspect the project or do you just go to like city hall or an office and get a paper and pay the fee and you’re good to go? IT looks good for a first-time doing shingles. I always put the flashing under the shingles but over the underlayment. Makes for a better finish in my opinion I have never understood laying flashing over the shingles because. If you have your shingles tight to the edge of the house water will never come close to the flashing maybe some snow. But if you go with a better grade underlayment most are waterproof. But overall, really good job I have a hard time believing this was your first time.
