Featured House Reef: Misool Resort | Raja Ampat
Misool Resort has, quite possibly, one of the largest house reefs of all the resorts we visit in Indonesia. You could also argue that Misool's reef is one of the best as it's not only beautiful, but there are so many different features to it, like the blacktip reef shark nursery, the turtle feeding grounds, or the resident school of bumphead parrotfish that always keep it interesting! One thing that a lot of guests love, particularly those staying in any of the North Lagoon villas or water cottages, is that you can access the house reef from your front porch at higher tides. That being said, out of convenience for storing your snorkeling gear and the tidal changes, the easiest place to enter the reef is from the main jetty/dock in front of The Hive-where all your snorkeling gear can be conveniently stored. I say the jetty/dock is the best place to enter the reef by because you can do so at any time. At lower tides you can not enter from your villas or water cottages as there is just not enough water in the lagoon for you to swim out of, also, at times the current can be a little bit strong, and exiting the lagoon to access the main reef can be a bit of a challenge.

Omg!!!!!! phenomenally done! Hands off to all those who we're responsible for THIS!!!! I meant who put this amazing video together!!! I tell you what, when the music started I knew I was in for a treat and boy wasn't I right! Although I have to say I was born in *Airai* (babeldaob) on Feb 1990,and 10 years later by this time it was a year know as *Millennium*. I Pretty much moved around but Between Concord and Walnut Creek CA is and always been a new home for me, but anywho out of all the sites you guys toured I'm almost embarrassed to say I've only been to one of them which is (Jelly Fishlake)#embarrassing I know right! I want to thank you all for this amazing wonderful treat! it was such a joy to see home again since it's been 23 years so thank you once again, y'all take care and don't stop doing what your doing! Hahaa, that was great Alex! I hope I remember them. I've been on the receiving end of "look look look" and sometimes STILL can't figure out what I'm looking at.
I prefer the long freediving fins. I am quite small and these fins make me feel much more secure in deeper water and stronger currents. They really make you dive and swim very fast 👍🏼 The very short fins are mostly for cave divers.
Great video. We are in the process of joining one of your snorkel venture trips that ends in Bali. Could you please advise which resort it is in the first seconds of the video - this looks right down our alley after spending 19 days snorkeling in Indonesia.

My wife and I went to Misool in 2018. It was spectacular in every respect. Far and away the best and most rewarding diving and snorkeling I have ever done in over 40 years of diving.

Beware that, despite initial friendliness, this company is very sticky about accommodating any changes, regardless of the circumstances. I had initially booked a trip to Egypt for 2024, but wondered about changing to Indonesia more than a year in advance. Well, that was not going to be easy, even if both trips still had vacancies. When the shooting started in Gaza slightly less than a year in advance, there was no longer any question of going somewhere safer. They just kept all the money and referred me to insurance. In the past, I have actually been to many of the places where they go: Komodo, Alor, Raja Ampat, Sulawesi, Halmahera. Nowadays, it is not too hard to find nice places whlch take snorkelers just as seriously as divers and will provide guided trips to the same spots. This works out cheaper and so comes down to personal preference. Do you just want to snorkel with a couple of people and a guide, or be in a phalanx of snorkelers guarded on all sides? Reply
