Customised Heater Mats As One-Off Replacements for Ceran Glass
We're sometimes asked to design like-for-like replacement heater mats for use under ceramic glass to repair servery hot plates.
These can be produced as single items at a reasonable cost to any size or shape needed.
They can also be customised with a suitable RTD sensor or thermocouple and a choice of temperature limiters.

    I have an LAE AH1-5. I'm not sure if it's the same for the AC1-5, but LAE has for some unknown reason deliberately removed the decimal point for temperatures above 19.9C, even when ScL = 1C The result is that the controller is unusable for the heating application I bought it for!

    • @HawcoCoUk
      @HawcoCoUk Před 4 lety

      Hi Lance. Thanks for your comment. Our technical team have suggested the following: For the AH1-5 with SCL set to 1, the value displayed will show a decimal point between -9.9°C to 19.9°C. This means from -10°C to -50°C, there is no decimal point and from +20°C to +80°C there is also no decimal point. For a heating application that needs a decimal point, you would need a more accurate process controller. Usually for heating applications over 20°C, whole numbers - with no decimals - are sufficient. For the AC1-5 with SCL set to 1, then the decimal point is always there. However, ensure you use a thermocouple or a PT100 - as PTC/NTC probes have a tolerance themselves of approx.+/- 1°C. So if decimal points are needed then it must mean serious accuracy is required from the probe also.

    • @HawcoCoUk
      @HawcoCoUk Před 4 lety

      Hi Susy Ar The default setting on a Carel Easy Cool controller is set to Celsius. To change this to deg F, first push and hold the set button to go into the parameters. (The default password for Carel is 22) Then, use the up or down arrows to find the probe setting you need, which is parameter /5. Select option 0 for Celsius and select option 1 for Fahrenheit. Press the set button to save the changes. Be aware that this will only change the display from C to F. It will not convert the temperature readings from Celsius to Fahrenheit. So for example, 20°C will be displayed as 20°F (it will not convert the set point to 68°F). I hope this helps. The Hawco Team

      Hi Ravi The flashing eco light shows that the economy setpoint has been activated. The economy setpoint is a different setpoint that can be initiated during times when the cabinet is not being used (for example at night when a store is closed) If you wanted to deactivate this setting, you will need to navigate to the CNF folder. The parameter H31 controls the function of the UP key while the parameter H32 controls the function of the DOWN key. Either one of these will be set to 3 (which means economy mode activation). Press this key to activate or deactive the economy setpoint mode. Please remember any changes to any parameter in the CNF folder will require you to power down the controller or the cabinet and switch back on to fully save the new parameters. Hope this helps. Hi Antonio It depends on the temperature you are hoping to achieve but you can set a LAE AT2-5 controller to switch off by either time or by temperature, whichever is reached first. • @HawcoCoUk
      @HawcoCoUk Před 4 lety

      Thanks for your comment. The OSP parameter refers to the temperature value that should be added to the setpoint when using the economy function mode. You should engage and disengage the economy function mode manually through a pre-configured key or controller digital input. You can configure the down key to do this. In this case, you should set parameter H32 to “3”. After that, power the unit off/on via the isolator. Then the DOWN button can be used to manually turn off/on economy function mode. The same function can also be found with IDPlus 971 and IDPlus 974 controllers. Refer to the Eliwell instruction manual for the IDPlus range of controllers for full details - see bit.ly/2WlSuon. Details of OSP setting can be found on page 26 and the H32 parameter on page 29. Hope that helps. Get in touch with technical@hawco.co.uk if you need further advice.

This now means that what was once “20 deg c is now 2.0 deg c” However, if you ever change the SCL parameter from “2” to “1” (or vice versa) please ensure you check all the parameters as they will all be affected - ie HYS (hysteresis) was “05 deg c” is now “0.5 deg c” automatically!! @HawcoCoUk Před 5 lety

      Hi James The set point required should be between +8°C and +12°C, depending on the product (e.g. wine, beer, ale etc). Defrost cycles will be minimal as the evap temp will be above +1°C. The easiest way to set up your controller would be to start by applying one of the four standard defaults (AP1-AP2-AP3-AP4) which come with the Eliwell IDPlus 961.Then you can change the setpoint as required. The most suitable default application for a beer chiller is AP2. To find out how to load this default application, refer to page 14 of the IDPlus instruction manual which can be downloaded here - bit.ly/2WlSuon Then to adjust the setpoint to between +8°C and +12°C, refer to page 19 of the same instruction manual. A full description of the AP2 default parameters can be found on page 25. If you need any more advice, email technical@hawco.co.uk and we will do our best to help you.
