@@SebastiaanKr so back before Easter this year I went to the tank museum and saw the Tommy in the trenches tour. The guide was explaining to us the experiences of what young soldiers had to go through. At the end of the tour he said that this exhibition was built in November 1998. I asked him if he could bring back the original audio to the trenches and I showed him some recordings but he said for me to move on. I also asked him if he could switch on the old blue headlights above. He said he won’t because it could be too dark and his younger grandson was too scared to walk through the trenches when he took him to see. However the tour guide did mention that one morning few months ago, his morning job was to open the door to the trenches and use a flashlight to find his way to the operating buttons to turn the audios on as well as the lights. After pulling the switch to turn the sounds on, an unusual noise started playing what seemed like a carriageway train charging through the area followed up with another audio playing of some injured men in the stretchers crying out “water, water!” He thought it was a ghost calling him to fetch some water. After the audio stopped playing, he never heard it again and was very confused because he had never heard this sound before after working in the museum for a couple of years. What could be the problem that activated that particular speaker? Why did it never play again? Could it be repaired and restored?

They are forts of different sizes. Most of the artillery was aimed towards Germany. The guns could just shoot up to the border, because they were defensive forts. Using the 360 ​​degree rotating gun turrets they were able to shoot the enemy off the roof of the adjacent fort. The distance to Paris is quite far, at least 100 -200 km, so not really within the range. There was quite a lot of fighting, even though the Germans moved around, they did not simply surrender. They continued after the standstill.

@@VinceViking26 Thank you very much indeed for the information. I think, as mentioned before, that this is very close to the real scenario that has been on the eastern front.

Its not particular close, but understandingly they play it save and use double the Famos which would be necessary ... taking it easy on that valuable material. German archives has pictures of just two Sd.Kfz. 9 towing Tiger 1 back in WW2.

Zeker uniek om te zien. Ja vond zelf ook jammer, maar stond helaas niet echt voor aan. Dus beetje compromissen door tussen de hoofden door filmen en dan er weer boven langs ✌🏻☺️

Ps, helaas krijgen de bekende en pers de kans om op betere locatie te filmen dan wij als bezoekers 😊
