Mind You, I Had To Edit Out TMNT (1987), The Raccoons & Count Duckula. The Description Has The Clean Upload.
i want this to be solved soo bad :(
Love the fact this version, Marley is remorseful for his misdeeds and mistreatment of others in life. He knows it is too late to make amends and whilst he serves his punishment, he doesn't want Scrooge to end up like him and wants him to change whilst he has the opportunity to do so.
Jacob is a good friend in my book. Coming to warn Scrooge to change his misery way of living or else his afterlife punishment will be far worse and his chains will be far longer and heavier to carry. He helps Scrooge to change by arranging the three ghosts to visit and set him back on the path of redemption. Jacob has to aimlessly wander the world without piece or rest and has to carry the chains of his accumulated acts of greed, selfishness and suffering he did to others when he was alive, as his afterlife punishment. He then has to go to join the other tomemented spirits in their afterlife punishments, bound by their chains of greed and selfishness, permanently stripped of opportunities to help anyone again, since they wasted their lives, acquiring wealth and material possessions, refusing to help those in need around them with that wealth.
🇧🇷
the film itself is quite elusive too, so we could be dealing with a case of double lost media, thanks for uploading this dude :)
You're Welcome.
Oh what would I give to get at least a movie with these 2 clashing with each other.
I feel so bad for Jacob Marley and I wish him intervening to help his friend Scrooge would release his own chains. They say misery loves company, so Jacob helping his friend from having the same fate was selfless
This is probably one of the best Marley scenes put to film. The Muppets Christmas Carol is the best version, but this Marley scene stands out to me as having exactly the weight and gravitas I imagined it having reading the book.
3:17 LOL
He forgot to close the window….
1:47 I think that’s the creepiest entry of Marley in any version.
More of gravy than of grave? What a terrible pun! Where do you get those jokes? leave comedy to the bears, Ebenezer!
It’s in the text of the novella…
@@darbyheavey406 I was actually quoting Statler and Waldorf from The Muppets Christmas Carol...
Hopefully we can figure this one out. It’s not like Virgin is some obscure label. Somebody has to know who this is.
Happy holidays to everyone
Outrageous what they did to Jacob Marley.A man works hard and minds his own business and that is what he gets.Shameful,shameful,shameful.I know it is fiction but the idea is repulsive.
This reads as a troll comment, no sane person would ever defend Marley and Scrooge.
@@xero2135 I am 100% sane and I will defend Marley,
@@xero2135 Explain to me what Marley did that was bad enough to warrant that?
@@xero2135Well, to be fair any punishment that lasts eternally is a bit of overkill imho. Having not read the book and only seen the Muppets Christmas Carol, the Marleys in that film recalling joyfully about evicting an orphanage. "I remember the little tikes, all standing in the snowbanks. With their little frostbitten teddy bears." Obviously an exaggeration, but probably not too far off considering the poor working and living conditions in 19th century industrial Europe. Such treatment was justified by the same reasoning that justified the colonisation and subjugation of "primitive" societies. So there was no motivation to improve those conditions. Dickens, if memory serves me right, came from the lower classes and his experiences with poverty became a running theme in his work.
@@user-zc3do8vk4qThey're money-lenders. Usury is a sin in Christianity. Scrooge also underpaid his clerk and has absolutely no sympathy for his debtors, while saying things like the poor should die to "decrease the surplus population". He doesn't even spend his money on himself: he lives in Marley's old house, he doesn't light the fires in his own office, and in this scene he's eating gruel, a cheap porridge more often eaten by poor factory workers. Marley and Scrooge's sins are that they care nothing for their fellow man. They care only about their business and making profit, to the point where Scrooge won't even allow himself personal pleasures if it means spending money. Marley is punished for the suffering he caused, the people who needed help that he ignored, and for his inability to see past his profit-book.
This is the best adaptation of Marley. It really makes you think whether or not there’s an afterlife that punishes people who did bad things in their human lives.
Thied is not from falling in reverse
This is the only Marley scene where you can get a real sense of weight the chains carry. Also the wind blowing against his cold, ghostly face as he sits down places Marley in his own, dreadful dimension despite being in the same room as Scrooge.
I always found the sound of Jacob slowly walking into the house because of his chains so creepy. Something was coming up the stairs and Scrooge had no idea what it was but it was coming
Wandering aimlessly carrying his chains of greed and selfishness, is Marley's afterlife punishment
I must admit this wasn't the best Jacob Marley, that going between Michael Horden & Frank Finlay. However what do I like is that this Jacob Marley truly regrets his actions when he lived as you can hear the remorse in his voice.
I like this version because he's more subtle. He's not scary because he jumps around and screams and makes loud noises. He's scary because he's dead.

My Try at Wiring Out The Lyrics: She's alone in city. [Yeah] The city is so hard. She's just staring at the faces. No one believes in her. He's running in the distance. [yeah] Nobody's to blame. Still nothing ever changes. When you're alone [again]. There's nobody there to call her name. There's nobody who can ease the pain. Well she there forever young! Just waiting for the right one, forever young and [hard]! Just a one in a million. Such a long way from home. What ya gonna do about it? Nobody seems to care. She keeps a heart full of hoping. [yeah] a [????] [Dreams]. Still nothing ever changes. It's much worse than it seems. Cause nobody's there to call her name. There's nobody who can ease the pain. Well she there forever young! I think the [????] one is “pocket full of”, I’m not quite sure though.
@@kurtissaventozone Yeah, You Might Be Right On That One.
I love this movie, and think it’s among one of the best adaptations off the story. This scene alone like with the mouth, scared me alot as a child. Definitely left an impression on me.
Do Macrotus next?
Great music here.
Truly, the best interpretation , this Scrooge feels the most human, and I feel like we all can relate to him in some way. Especially the scene where he tells his younger self to go after the woman this clearly shows that he feels regret and guilt which all of us have felt what time in our lives, this also shows us that he really does regret not going after her and telling her how he felt and in return, he allowed this regret and guilt to make him bitter and mean .
I think this one is the best version also.
