    Coming from an Ariens 54 inch, I was all in on buying the new Gravely. Not offering a 54" deck was a deal killer for me. Bought the Spartan RZ 54 instead with the B&S 2500 CXI. Actually prefer that particular engine over the Kawasaki FS691 which was the only other option.

    I studied subcompact tractors for two years before I made a purchase. I was down to Kubota, TYM and YANMAR. I needed the smallest model for my business to get in and out of customers gates. After studying them all closely, I pulled the trigger on the YANMAR 223. It has been an amazing tractor for its size. I would recommend it to anybody looking for a sub.

    Great Video, super helpful. I am looking at one. Do you need to have that back bale on to counter weight the bales? The YM359 isn't that heavy I dont think. Maybe 3000 lbs....my bales are a measly 800lbs

    • @prequipmentsales
      @prequipmentsales Před 3 hodinami

      800lb bales would be fine. Pushing 1200 you’ll need counter weight. We like to add ballast regardless as it improves performance.

    Everyone already knows about the Deere and Kubota tax. Masseys compare much more with New Hollands as far as bang for buck. Both very good brands that really mostly care about the meat and potatoes sizes of tractors (60+ hp). CNH and AGCO tractor frames all seem to be a little larger hp for hp compared to other brands. They are both global conglomerates though, so you never know which country made which model. It could be France, Italy, Britain, Turkey, China, Korea, Canada, or here in the US. They also are massive equipment manufacturers too. Case is to New Holland as Fendt is to Massey, or in a fashion, how GMC is to Chevy. They are about 90% the same. There are more notable differences in the Monster class 9 units though, especially the tracked ones.

    I know im a year behind, but it was pretty obvious that the massey loader was mounted higher than the case in the video. At the end of the day, it comes down to price and dealer support after the sale with farm equipment. Perhaps a little bit of brand favoritism thrown in to boot.

    Thanks for your time. I own a TYM 474, HST, currently 210hrs Has never regened (nor have ever indicated a loss of power). I am not a tractor mechanic. I would recommend for folks with problematic regens to install a pyro as close to the exhaust valve ports as practical, prior to the cat. I like analog gages, but an idiot light that illuminates if exhaust temp is to low will work. Tractors have a wide range of mechanic advantages that can work against engines that are subject to repetitive regens. The pyro will learn the operator how the manage the exhaust temperature to keep the cat hot. A hot exhaust is what the will prevent regen, not engine rpm nor jacket watet temperature will make the cat hot. All Diesels need a minimum exhaust gas temperature to burn clean. Regards.

    How do these MF's compare to the Yanmars? Ive been going deep into the world of Yanmar recently, but despite MF making massive tractors, I dont see much on their smaller units. Considering a unit for a 10 acre horse farm, with a LOT of snow removal... Honestly, I was pretty set on the Yanmar YT235C but then I saw the MF 1835 M with a cab and Im back to more research. I have a 4709 with under 200 hours. In the last 6 months the computer has shut it down twice because the sensors show the exhaust is not getting clean enough. My dealer is telling me this is my fault that I need to keep it at 2000 RPMs at all times. Seems like a load of BS to me.

    • @prequipmentsales
      @prequipmentsales Před měsícem

      Yeah, that’s definitely a load of BS. If it was a regen system that’s a different situation but on these SCR systems it’s not a problem. In fact, that’s one of the nice things about these SCR systems is that the RPMs don’t really matter. There’s something else going on.

    Great comparison. For those that are wondering, you can get the Spartan with a key ignition. My RZ Pro 54” has a key ignition and was the only one available at the dealer. They can get you a key ignition if you request it. Absolute fan of Kawasaki and I will buy nothing else. Before they were bought out by Husqvarna my Yazoo-kee was a Kawasaki engine and after 20 years I sold it to my father and it is still rolling and has not had one problem with the engine. Also this mower is not hydrostatic, which in opinion is fantastic and one of the reasons why I bought the mower. This mower is built like a tank and rides like a dream. I have an acre a lot and it literally takes about 30 minutes to mow my yard.

Could these two setting affect bale density? I have reset the bale size to about 57 inches and backed off the tension knob a couple of turns. What is the cycle start plug on the harness? I am thinking it is for a manual test? Also looking for operators manual and parts manual.

    • @prequipmentsales
