BricksTer - Case Prototype Demo
The current PCB really isn't designed to be put in a case, but I just got a prototype printed this week, and I really want to show the world what BricksTer can be. And so I hacked together the first in-case prototype and this little video. Let me know your thoughts: what do you like? what do you dislike? and subscribe for future updates! github.com/BTbricks/
Special thanks go to Doc_brown of Eurobricks for the initial case design.

Initial test of a Bluetooth receiver for LEGO Power Functions. There is still work to be done, but this is a substantial step in the right direction. Also, sorry for the single-handed awkward recording. I finally understand how hard it is to film a demo by yourself.

Second test of a Bluetooth receiver for LEGO Power Functions. I've replaced the Arduino with an ATtiny84. This also demonstrates a simple skinning, which makes the Android Bluetooth terminal app look and act like a Power Functions IR transmitter. More to follow...

A test of Blender's cloth simulation suite. Definite self-penetration can be seen as the cloth is agitated, but the it recovers without any snags. It seems the self-snag issues described in www.sintel.org/production/wing-simulation-or-gaaaaaah/ have already been fixed?

The Santa Fe train was on its way to Sandusky bad guy the man on the car switch the train to the other track, but it was a dead end track and everyone died the end
Santa Fe train was full of money
I love this Train! Looks like some save the train and arrest the evil man with a dynamite.
One of the first youtube videos I watched during my Lego Train mania (ca. early 2010s)
Same
When I was four I watched it,now,im 12 and came back for nostalgia, thanks for giving me such a good memory
Omg, I remember this from when I was a kid. It took me so long to find the video again
Im gonna cry...one of my favorite videos...
Very Nostalgic
The flex track also means you make more shallow turns, which allows bigger and longer locomotives that are less agile to use the track, so you may not need to compromise a design too much, specificall for steam locs.
look how much we've grown!
Whats the name of the song
2:26 Why is that guy walking slowly to the switch? He should be running. Its an emergency.

This should be saved for the future
The SantaFe rag movie
CZcams clasic right here, i remember watching this so many times when i was about 6 update: Im now 22 and just decided to revisit this classic
im gonna use that music when my character
Clever! I might one day end up having trains to run on such tracks. That foil tape is brilliant! How long does it last? Does it wear off or is friction with the wheels actually insignificant? If you switch back to remote-control trains, how do they run on track electrified like that?
Cool! 😁😁😁👍👍👍
i remember i watched this so manny times when i was about 9...
Me too. Just pure nostalgia.
I remember when I was so young and I watched this so many times
Pyro Dog same.
reminds me of those old style silent films
What is the music
Copyright 2007 wow that's been 8 years I'm nine 😯
I finally found the video! after so many years
+Christian Duncan I know right!
I would totally bid on those Passenger cars on Ebay.
I got one for 14 bucks on eBay, lucky find
how'd you do the phone thing?
Now it's default in Lego (powered up)
Looks very exciting. I like the approach you took with the casing. Will this remain a DIY project or do you envisage selling complete modules at some point? Any idea how your receiver compares to the SBrick (www.sbrick.com/) that is scheduled to ship near the end of the year?
This is really great. Were you able to get consecutive pieces of the flex track to work with each other or do you have to have the straight elements to keep tension on it for conductivity? I'd really like to see where you have taken this. Also, how did you wrap the foil so well to the track?
Consecutive flex pieces work too. I've found electrification of the track using foil tape to be too time consuming though, so I personally won't be using this method in the future. Thankfully, MeModels' KickStarter was successful, so we'll have some decent options for metal track in the future. =)
How did I wrap it so well? Patience. ;)
Nick Iaconis Any idea how long they've been sold out of the rails on their site and if they'll stock more? Those 9V to 4.5V connectors are very interesting. Thanks for responding.
BTW - Did you have to separate the two parts of the flex track in order to do this? I'm assuming so but just wanted to know for certain. Thanks.
Big B Bricks They've been sold out for quite some time. That was an limited beta production run. AFAIK they are aiming to fulfill KickStarter rewards sometime next month, and should be back in stock (but with the real deal instead of the beta) shortly thereafter. I did not have to separate the two halves of the flex track to add the copper tape. I fed the tape between the rails first, then folded it over to the outside/inside.
Of the train crash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
dude if u want good vids then have the train CRASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
nyahhahaha, curse you snidley whiplash . good vid :)
wow i was actually impresed by a lego stopmotion for the first time ever.also i cant believe a pony fan could do something this good
What would a video be like with- The Entertainer (made by same artsist)
I only liked this video for the music, which is the "Magnetic Rag."
Really nice lip sync! I have made an animation like that too, but I used shape tween instead : p

Dawww, wet mane :3
How do you remember that username? :o
No problem man, yes you're right about the Mic. Voice can do some work, come up with a cartoony voice you're comfortable with and doesn't sound over ridiculous like something from spongebob. Remember Dr whooves talking in that applebloom episode, a little like that.
touché X3
Hey now, that's my voice you're talking about =| Haha, nah I know it sucks X3 Also, it was recorded with a terrible mic, but I do what I can with what I have. Thanks for watching. I'm glad you enjoyed the more important parts =)
