Efuel still has some large hurtles to overcome before it can be the future, though I certainly hope it becomes part of the future. I do need to point out though that in the long run EVs produce less CO2 when you take in the entire lifetime of the vehicle into account

I don't know how much coal it takes to produce enough electricity to charge an EV but I'm not sure that it's worse than burning tens of thousands of gallons of gasoline throughout a cars lifetime. In the US over 60% of all occupied housing units have a garage or carport so most people actually can charge their car at home. The mining often also uses child labor on top of the damage to the environment. However it is difficult to say whether or not drilling for oil causes more environmental damage than mining for lithium. The hazmat suits are definitely necessary considering the chemicals used in batteries but if you look into the process of drilling, transporting, and refining oil then you'll see its not exactly sanitary either. Batteries exploding and catching fire are both pretty rare scenarios, probably about as likely as a gas car's tank leaking fuel everywhere and catching fire from the heat of the engine.

Never mind the fact that some places where lithium and cobalt are mined use child labor. I'm well aware of the problems we face with EVs. It's not a perfect solution, it would actually be better if everyone used public transportation bc that is FAR cleaner than everyone driving their own car around, regardless of the car.

Factual accuracy is important with these videos so homework is necessary. I don't own an EV simply because I can't afford to buy one and because there is a complete lack of public charging where I live.

I'm both impressed by the range you manage on the highway and shocked at how much the temperature affects the range. Completely forgot about the effects of temperature, maybe I'll revisit this topic in a few months or years and include that.

@@autoreportsweekly8148 Sounds good. The Kona comes with a heat pump. My buddy bought a Tesla Model 2 with no heat pump. 2021 model and he didn't even know was a heat pump was or its use in the car.

Happy to provide some insight! There's many things that governments do that are questionable and this is one of those unfortunately.

I had completely forgotten about that collaboration but after looking it all I could find was that Ford used it for an all electric crossover (presumably referring to the Mach-E) and VW used it for the ID.Buzz so I don't think the truck will be on that platform. I'm hoping they take a page from Ford's book and make the Scout's design as reminiscent to the original as Ford did with the Bronco.

That's not a midsized truck, its about two feet shorter than the Chevy Colorado and only a few inches longer than a Toyota Camry. IDK if they officially call it a compact truck or what but I don't consider it midsized considering how much smaller it is

As a daily driver, which is how many people use them, it is far from the best vehicle. Horrid fuel economy, wobbly at high speeds, vague steering, lots of wind noise, dismal storage space, etc. But all of that is ignorable for how you feel driving it, especially when the roof is down. Its more of an emotional purchase than a logical purchase which is why I used the term irrational though I guess irrational isn't the perfect word for it. I'll think of a more fitting title and change it. I think the Ford Bronco will also be an irrational purchase that will be based largely on the emotions it gives. I love both the Wrangler and the Bronco but objectively they aren't a great purchase as a daily. Offroading is a different story
