    A point may be turned into anything (e.g. drawing a house, a sphere or whatever, out of the point), but it limits the anything down to somewhere and not anywhere (when the point is part of the drawing of the house, the drawing is located by that point), so the potential of a point is certainly limited to a certain ->point in space, thus not being of unlimited possibilies in respect of location. Yet still the shapes that can be formed starting at it, are not limited in any way; so I would argue, a point could be seen as the first limitation to the infinite (still being infinite, but with narrowed down potential), visualizing the ein sof into grasp of our understanding by metaphorically projecting it into our conscious understanding. From this point we try to expand our understanding of the ein sof back to the complete picture, which is destined to fail; if you only see one pixel of a photo that has for example a resolution of 1024x1024 pixels, it is impossible to imagine, how the entire photo would look like just from that pixel alone, rendering it an exercise in futility, we can only hope the entire picture is a good one, but we can not be certain. Regarding this aspect, I wonder how it makes sense, that we assume anybody would know about the workings beyond this metaphorical point? Is there an explanation to how the look onto this metaphorical point has extended to a vaster understanding of the entirety behind it by the scribes of kabbalistic texts?

    • @TempleIsraelMI
      @TempleIsraelMI Před 2 měsíci

      An excellent observation that the point metaphor breaks down when it comes to location. In the analogue of Chochma that we are exploring, the pure point of Chochma has no information or detail whatsoever, including metadata such as in what intellectual space it is located. In the analogy of a drawing, the first dot on a page has both location, and some actual area, which are the development of Binah. On the other hand, yes, Chochma of the Ein Sof is an enormous contraction and limiting of G-d's being with the purpose of relating to created beings. That is why we say a human cannot fathom even one of G-d's thoughts. Still, trying to get a grasp on the source of Chochma, and any connection to the workings of G-d's mind, so to speak is very much the focus of Kabbalah and Chassidus.

      @@TempleIsraelMI Thank you for your reply. As seen on the videos and by the answers you give under your videos, I think of you as a very understanding and intelligent teacher. It's really a shame it is impossible to find a teacher, let alone kabbalist where I live. Your Videos are invaluable and very helpful, yet I wished after these classes, I had somebody to talk about it [there are so little jewish people where I live, that I don't even personally know a single jewish person...] to fasten the learned content to the mind and understand it more properly. It seems to me nefesh habehamit is getting constantly fed by for example all advertisments, as they aim at egoistic wants and needs, while also people being on social media look at other people flaunting their nefesh habehamit side, posing as if they are happy, enforcing the feeling to the viewer, that if he intensifies the feeding of his nefesh habehamit, he will be happy too; while in reality the unhapiness of so many people is a result of the fact, that their nefesh ha'elokit is malnourished, and forms a void that literally can be felt by so many. The lack of growth in the nefesh ha'elokim then results in making it impossible for the person to form Yesod, as they can't commit to anybody as commiting to somebody can't be purely egoistic, thus making it impossible again to form valuable relationships. Reflected in the current world, this is expressed through increased depression- (due to the void at the place, where nefesh ha'elokim should grow), drug abuse- (as they think they have to intensify their feeding of nefesh habehamit) and divorce rates (through the lack of being able to form yesod as nefesh ha'elokim is basically non-existant). As I am a gentile who has not much knowledge about kabbalah, I would like to ask, if this interpretation is correct or wrong due to a lack of understanding or knowledge?

      Absolutely correct. The entire structure of the G0dly soul is a reflection, and flows out of the structure of Divine creation. Our intellect flows from G0dly intellect. Our emotions correspond to G0dly emotions, and our speech is a reflection of Malchut - G0d's Royalty over creation.

    How is the Kabbalah different from the Shockera (which showed up more in internet searches…and separately: what does the Kabbalah say about the scientific tree of life?

    • @TempleIsraelMI
      @TempleIsraelMI Před 2 měsíci

      Thaks for the question, LisaCraig. If you are referring to the Chakras, the key difference is that the Chakras manifest as energy centers in the physical body. Although the Sefirot are described as corresponding to the human body, and drawn on diagrams, they are not energy centers. The Sefirot are the inner structure of Divine light out of which all reality flows - in particular the human form. So while the crown chakra has a location on the skull, Chochma and Bina are the creative light out of which the entire right and left sides of the brain are projected into time space and consciousness. The same applies to the Chesed/Gevurah/Tiferet and the right, left arm and torso. The biological tree of life is a Western categorization of species, etc. So very different from the mystical Tree of Life from the Torah. That being said, all of reality flows out of the Divine structure, and so Kabbalah teaches there will always be parallels to that structure. Perhaps the three categories of Bacteria, Archea and Eukaryota would correspond to the three Worlds described in this series? That would need more study to expand on the question.

    • @lisacraig1894
      @lisacraig1894 Před 2 měsíci

      @@TempleIsraelMI , I can see the interaction of small critters in an ecological system. Where, although 97% of bacteria is good; the good bacteria get killed first by anti-biotic in the water; leaving bad bacteria and fungi and viruses to flourish without the good bacteria to naturally kill them. Answer for humans and nature: take less anti-biotics, eat organic foods, and take probiotics daily. Or even smaller: maybe the “umbilical cord” is as though our link to the Higgins type-God particle in an atom? And the more negative attributes are as the negative electron ions, neutral neutron ions are in the middle and have the most mass & positive proton ions are the positively associated bodies. If the light of the ein sof is infinite, how does it get shaded by veils? If a light is bright, yes a veil would dimm it, but with an infinite light, still infinite light would cast through the veil (mathematically speaking; let's say a bright ligh has 1'000'000 Lumen, a veil is there that takes half of the lumen away, so 500'000 Lumen would shine through the veil, but when the light is infinite Lumen and the veil takes half of the Lumen again, still infinite Lumen shine through, as infinite divided by two is still infinite), am I missing something here?

    • @TempleIsraelMI
      @TempleIsraelMI Před 2 měsíci

      Very perceptive question, and correct, nothing should be able to "veil" the Ein Sof. But the Gevurah (might) of G0d is also infinite. So veils created by G0d have the capacity to "dim" the Or Ein Sof, so to speak. In the end, though, that dimming of the light of the Ein Sof is only real from the perspective of created beings. From G0d's perspective, there is only the infinite unity that precedes even the light.
