Lay Saran Wrap down. Put dough in middle, lay another Saran on top and roll out. Keep it cold. So if it becomes room temp, when it about to lay on top, just pop back on fridge for 5-10 min until stiff.

He's right, this is the easiest and fastest method and I've tried them all. Couple things to mention... I wouldn't recommend composting the waste/sludge, just toss it in your garbage. Also, your new "cleaned" oil may or may not look cloudy afterwards (sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't, I don't really know why), but once you let it cool and then reheat it, it will clear again.

The higher rim is due to no water bath.
The only way this method works is if you do this after every use of fresh oil only three times maximum I was under the impression that you could clean a gallon of oil with this method 4 tablespoons of starch and one cup of water I was sadly mistaken and wasted my time but I’m not saying that you are lying just saying that this doesn’t work for oil that has been used more than three times

Wouldn’t the strainer do the same thing without the cornstarch step? I need a side by side experiment. This is interesting.
Just boil the oil n strain it n no need for corn starch
No need to add the cornstarch. Just put a cheesecloth or 2-3 coffee filters in the strainer and then strain the oil without addition of anything else. DONE!
You can actually jus strain it without the mixture and be sure to not pour out the last little bit cause most of the left over foods sit at the bottom

I tried unscrewing. But the heating element is attached to waffle plates as well. It’s like going down a wormhole. This method worked for me. Boiling water. Turn on maker. Wait til water boils. Unplug maker. Carefully use paper towel with a kitchen towel knife. Careful not to scratch Teflon. Wallah. Pearl sugar starts coming out.
