Back before Regan was Governor of California, we had places like apartment buildings that were state run and helped people with disabilities or drug addiction or homelessness. They had professionals working there with them, there were far fewer people on the streets then. But Regan and the republicans like usual don’t want to pay for social services and these facilities were closed down in the 70’s.

To answer some of the questions I have read.ths city has set up small bathroom and shower facilities but you have to know where they are. I am a trained combat veteran but I am in a wheelchair. All the residents there carry some sort of weapon at least a knife. I was even attacked by a girl that was high. She tried to punch me. The police won't go into skid row. You never see a squad car riding down the street there. They ignore the place. If you are attacked they come and try to steal your wallet and other valuables while you are dying. o have never seen a policeman there. They have given up on the place. Being a veteran didn't matter. The shelters are almost always filled. Many of these people have just gotten used to living like that. I met people in skid row that have lived there for years. There is disease there like the middle ages. Strange diseases with Latin names caused by the filth These illnesses go unreported and kill many people there even though I was homeless I used my food stamps to buy food and water for them and would pass it out. I have a heart as big as a whale and it hurt me so much to see these poor people but there was only so much I could do. All those famous rich actors that live only a few miles away yet they allow this in their city. They should be ashamed of themselves but they are to busy partying in their clubs to care. It really makes me cry

I work down in this area. Most of these people DO NOT want change. They want their drugs most of all. On Towne Ave we have some illegals that have recently moved in. From El Salvador and Guatemala. When they first arrived we would watch our cameras at work and witness them chasing people off by using machetes. Scary stuff 😮. Now after a few months of them being their. The street is so calm. We have five tents across the street and absolutely no one else on the block. No more crazies walking into our job. No more poop and pee outside our business. Thanks to the Cartel across the street 😅👈🏼👌🏼
