GARDEN EDIT | Changing the cottage garden color scheme to Purple, Lime Green, Apricot and White!
zhlédnutí 1,2KPřed 2 lety
This video is part garden tour, and part explanation of an edit we just did on the cottage garden. This is from the second week in June 2022 which is pretty much the peak of beauty for this garden! Our garden is in zone 6b Rhode Island, USA. When we built the garden initially 3 years ago, the color scheme for the cottage garden was lime green and purple. I wanted to add some raspberry for a pop...

A quick look at what is blooming in our Zone 6b, central Rhode Island garden at the very end of April. The star of the show is obviously our Kwanzan cherry tree. The front gardens have several types of bulbs blooming - there are Lady Jane Tulips, Purple Lady Tulips, and Foxtrot Tulips. We also have tons of Grape Hyacinth which makes a lovely combo with the Sailboat mini daffodils. Back in the P...
GARDEN TOUR | August Cut Flower Garden Tour
zhlédnutí 1KPřed 2 lety
2021 was the first season for our cut flower garden, and here's a look at how it turned out. This garden tour was filmed in mid-August 2021. We started the garden in early spring by laying cardboard down over the grass. Then we put down a few inches of leaves that had been collected the prior fall. On top of that, the beds got a few more inches of a compost/loam mixture and the pathways got a f...

It's almost July! We've gotten a lot of rain recently in zone 6b Rhode Island so a lot of the earlier flowering perennials (like nepeta) needed to be cut back. The lavender phenomenal along the front walkway is blooming and smells amazing. The Stachys betony 'hummelo' is blooming. Early phlox is blooming as well as the mother of pearl poppies I threw seed down for in February. The new David Aus...

It is the middle of June. This past week was one of the pinnacles of the garden season (when the roses, peonies, catmint, and salvias are all in bloom). Some of these things have gone by now, but others are coming in their place. In the front perennial gardens, the lavender is starting to color up. My lone allium atropurporeum is blooming. The hydrangeas have lots of buds on them, as does the B...

Did you know there are Dutch tulip fields in RHODE ISLAND?! Wicked Tulips Flower Farm is a little taste of the Netherlands right here in New England. Hi there - beautiful gardens! I just bought an Exaco Victorian greenhouse - similar to yours. Have you had any issues with a brick foundation rather than poured concrete? I’m also in RI - South County. We are trying to decide between concrete and Uniloc or brick pavers for our foundation. Any input would be welcome. Happy gardening!

Hi, My husband gifted me the Junior Vic 24 for my birthday and I’m anxiously waiting for it to arrive. I’m curious about water. Do you have a water source inside of your greenhouse and do you think it’s necessary? What about a small sink would that be useful? I’m also curious about the placements of the vent windows on the top is there a right or wrong placement for them? Thank you Jude

Beautiful! How "old" was your garden at this point? Did you plant all at once? Or years at a time? Did you use any services for assistance? Did you plan it all at once or in stages, or just buy what you liked when you could? Curious to know the process, investment time/money/upkeep, how long it took you to get it to look so beautiful and the journey in general. Thank you for all of the names!

Beautiful gardens! 😍 I've just discovered your channel. I have the same bunny troubles. What is helping me I noticed last year is they are staying out of one of my beds that I started planting patches of oregano and cinnamon basil in. Through the season I keep cutting back and using those cutting to chop and drop around other areas. Apparently they also don't like the smell of coffee grounds so I've started saving mine scattering around my hydrangeas. Will be amazing if it works. 🤞🏻 Ok back to watching rest of video. 😁
