Im a teacher and some years ago, i had a new student come in from Nigeria who just couldn't pull her weight and struggled immensely. As the year rolled by her birthday came and she was turning 6! In class 3!!!! Suddenly everything made sense. She was too young for the class and couldn't assimilate anything. I had assumed she was the same age as the kids since she was on the heavier side and very vocal outside academic work. I spoke to her mother and she seemed ok with it so im sure she was told about it before bringing her but she insisted. The child continued to struggle for 2 more years before she eventually took her to another school. I hope she's successful there. Here in ghana kids start class one between 5-7 years( 5 is uncommon but happens) 6 is the average and 7 is more common. Personally i started primary at 6 and finished secondary school at 17. I was among the youngest in my class. Age doesn't really matter but if a child is unable to access the education i don't think they should be rushed through. I think this system of going through school so fast is unique to Nigeria because in America they start 1st grade at 7 and in Britain 5-6. Most countries too require child to be older to start school. As usual Nigerians and their unique ways😅

One of the biggest shocks ive had social media is Nigerians passing derogatory comments about Ghanaian food. Like why? There're so many things Nigerians eat that we find disgusting but you wont find us commenting so on their posts. Why? Because we respect your culture and your right to enjoy what you were brought up with and are used to. But Nigerians full of pride believe only what they eat is 'correct ' but Ghanaian food is 'nasty'. Honestly being so disgusting to others about their food and culture shows a lack of understanding of cultural diversity. Since majority of Nigerians do it i believe cultural diversity is not taught in your schools hence the lack of hesitation to keep their unpleasant comments to themselves. I once had an experience. During multicultural day in my kids school, parents brought food from their culture to the school. Guess what, getting to the end only the Nigerian stand had plenty of food left because people didn't patronize it. What Nigerians think is the best food is rejected elsewhere. Nigerians be humble. That said Jummy i enjoy your videos so much because you're so polished, classy, elegant, intelligent and beautiful! Im sure we'd be great friends if we grew up near each other. I like everything about you 🎉🎉🎉🎉 forgive any mistakes 😅
