Hi Yulianna! Right now I'm crazy about Rachmaninof. CZcams made a playlist for me recently with romantic music. In this was the Paganini var. #18. From the movie "Somewhere in time". I heard it many years ago for the first time at the Winter Olympics. A Russian pair was using it in the figure skating. But I didn't know anything about Rachmaninof back then.

Just stumbled across this TERRIFIC site. The Well-tempered remains my favourite solo (keyboard) work, both books. Shostakovich’s Preludes & Fugues remain, in my view, underestimated and under appreciated! It’s interesting that first only Richter played BOTH, but now more pianists are taking on both works. One wonders how Feinberg would have interpreted Shostakovich’s P&F in light of his idiosyncratic (and quite extraordinary) recording of the WTK.

Wow... Anna Federova I thought was the best at Chopin's noctures. Then I saw Ingolf Wunder and thought no way, there was someone better. Then I saw he won 2nd place to you in the Chopin 2010 contest. I had seen your pictures before but I never listened to your videos until today. I freaking cried. You are amazing. OMG! Best i've ever heard play a Chopin nocturne. Your touch is perfection. Super feather light to intense, just at the right moments you need to be. I felt like I was in a dream. I can't believe I never gave you a chance to listen to your play. Amazing! But at 67 years old (after spending 50 years primarily as a Rock lead guitarist) - it will be a great challenge for me to attain my goal.
