Is Davinci Resolve any good?
A quick video on why I made the switch to Resolve after so many years on Premiere pro
Not a super detailed run through on how the system works but just my thoughts on the change. I am planning to bring some more shorter vids on how to use Resolve for beginners.
If there is anything you want me to cover then pop it in to the comments!
PS. I forgot to lower my VND when shooting this so don't hate on me for the noise!

A tutorial nobody asked for but here it is anyway... This is just one way to record a time-lapse on the s5, but the easiest way to begin with in my opinion. I did this in Aperture priority, forgot to mention in the vid. Enjoy

    Thanks for the tutorial! A couple of questions: How does the V25 handle in windy conditions? Can you edit your video first from your video editor, export it and then finish the stabilization on Gyroflow, is that a good practice?

    Call me picky but I think it does an awful job of smoothing the video. The video jumps instead of shaking, which is no better than the original.

    Is it possible to fix the fish eye lens look when it stabilises the video? With the footage out of my DJI FPV it's got auto lens correction so all objects appear without being distorted. But take this into Gyroflow and I loose that and objects such as lines on a football field look loose their straight lines.

    Thanks, quick and to the point, just what I needed, I was all excited to use warp stabilizer from on Premier Pro which I recently got, on some FPV freestyle footage, man that was a bit of a disappointment, guess it would be fine for photo drone footage that didn't have a decent gimbal, but for FPV the cropping and scaling was ridiculous! Thanks again!

      I did everything as you said, except I pulled a clip from the DJI vista, set the proper lens profile, but when I tried export or render it came up with a warning stating, "you have not set sync points, if you continue, that data could be incorrect and your footage will be unstable, do you wish to continue". Is that because of no gyro data on the Vista??

    I played a bit with footage shot on a Panasonic GX8 with a Sigma 16mm F1.4 DC DN - and never could "really" buck the shakes. Does the video have to have "gyro" data associated? In otherwords, like a GoPro or a 360-degree camera? I see other camera profiles like the Sony a6300 (paired with my Sigma). I guess what I mean is- can this be used on ANY footage, or does it need to be mapped to a particular camera to work with the camera's typical gyro data?

    Hi, nice tutorial. I tried to stabilize my Gopro Session 5's footage using Gyroflow, but the result is always more shaky than the original video... I tried to fiddle with I think every setting, but with no luck. I know that Session 5 has more sensitive gyro (or something in that maner) so I shot the footage using softmount but it too didn't help. So I'd like to ask if you would know any tip to solve that. You mentioned that you can't use any EIS when shooting the video, other wise it won't work with GF (then it comes to my mind why there are lens profiles for settings with EIS on). I don't use stabilization my Session 5 so I don't think that would be the issue - I'm at work at this moment so I'm not be able to check my gopro settings right now (but yes, maybe I am an idiot and accidentally had EIS turned on without know).

    • @craigdowd100
      @craigdowd100 Před rokem

      Thanks man! As you say profiles designed with EIS on would suggest the software can deal with stabilisation turned on in camera, however in my experience it’s much more successful with this off, hence why I say in the video use NO EIS. My first suggestion would be double check you have your hypersmooth off mate. After that would make a list of the settings in your session then make sure they match with your profile you select on Gyroflow. Aspect ratio, frame size etc

    • @TomicaCZ
      @TomicaCZ Před rokem

      @@craigdowd100 Thanky for reply. Well, I kinda did check aspect ratio and so on, but I will definitelly check again whether the EIS really is turned off. I was watching some more videos on that topic today and I think I will build DIY gyro-logging device. There are some really cheap options (3-4$) and with a little hustle it can be put toghether in about 1-2 hours. So I think I'll give it a try

    • @MatthewTaylor3
      @MatthewTaylor3 Před rokem

      The problem wiht the Session 5 is that the gyro data is not perfectly in sync with the recorded video. This was fixed in newer units like the Hero 9, etc. The real problem is that the GoPro uses optical stabilization, not the gyro data to make Hypersmooth work. FOr this reason, a bright sunny day is needed for Hypersmooth. At the same time, an ND filter is a must for the Session 5 to get good image quality from it. If using Gyrofow, the winning formula is to leave hypersmooth off, and use an ND filter (but need daylight or sunny conditions).

    • @redogg2749
      @redogg2749 Před rokem

      heya did you ever get stabilised footage with your session 5 using gyroflow.? I bought myself a ND filter and softmounted but my footage comes out at low FPS or worse than before.?

    • @craigdowd100
      @craigdowd100 Před 3 lety

      Aperture mode isn't completely manual, slight changes in exposure made by the camera in numerous frames can give a flicker effect, not ideal in longer time-lapses but can be removed using software in post. For best results shoot in manual =D
